The Chalet Motel of Mequon

When we arrived to check-in (made a reservation 3 wks. prior) we were given a room that was difficult to get into with the key (#103). Once we entered with Kush's help, the room was very cold, and he moved us to #104 which was warm. After we were settled in, we found that there was no water coming out of the sink hot water tap. Bringing this to the attention of another staff person at the front desk, she suggested I take a shower if I wanted to wash my face. OR she could send us to another room. At this point, we did not want to take our chance on a 3rd room once we were settled for the evening. The next morning we found that the fridge (which was not initially plugged in) did not adequately cool medicine we had in there. These are basic things that should be in proper working order in a high turnover stretch of rooms. While we appreciated receiving a discount for our 1 night stay, we absolutely would not recommend this place for a friend to stay at. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable and I see touches of updating, but the big glaring problem areas far overshadowed that.

My husband and I needed a room for one night following a fun but exhausting day at Road America. Our room was scary...it had a bad odor, bathroom floor was full of hair, sink and faucet had not been wiped down. Everything needed a good cleaning. At least the bedding was clean, I think. Had to unplug a lamp behind the bed to plug in a cpap machine due to lack of outlets. Exterior was as bad...filthy walkways and stairs, plants growing up out of the gutters, spider webs and nests under the eaves, bird droppings on stairs and handrails, etc. Got some sleep and got out of there asap.

This motel is a great find! Prices are very reasonable. The rooms are clean and the bedding is very comfortable. Honestly one of the best beds I slept in and I do a lot of road traveling staying at motels like this. Cozy comforter and pillows. Kush and the entire staff including housekeeping were all very friendly and accommodating. I would give more stars if I could!

Yes rooms are out dated but unlike any and I mean any even the big name hotels the bathroom was nice and WARM. Every bathroom I've ever been in is ALWAYS COLD. Room and bathroom was clean although there was a few lil and I mean lil bugs like hard to see and take pictures of because they was so very tiny tiny moving around on bathroom floor I got them with Kleenex and seen no more. I was quite, bed and pillows was comfortable. Pillows was think also. They have shampoo, conditioner and body wash on wall. It was a walk in shower plenty of room to even shave my legs. A light was in shower to see also. But the sink water to turn on way opposite way lol the remotes to turn volume up and down and channels was opposite too haha. PLEASE PLEASE CHANGE THE ONE LAYER SANDPAPER TOILET PAPER!!!! I started using the Kleenex because it wasn't SANDPAPER I just threw it in trash can so it wouldn't stop up toilet...

Perfect location, clean comfortable room, very kind and hospitable staff. I definitely recommend as a nice option for a great price. I will definitely stay here from now on when visiting Mequon!

Very well kept older Motel. Reminds me of the U.P. in Michigan. Rooms are well kept. Location is perfect very nice area. Bonus fresh fruit and veggies stand in the parking lot. Very nice bar/restaurant in the same parking lot.

I made the mistake of thinking August had 30 days instead of 31. The Chalet would not refund or change my reservation even though Trip Advisor told me they would talk with the Chalet Manager to have them do so. Mistakes happen, Trip Advisor said. The Chalet would not even agree to refund my money. I wouldnt stay there now if it was the last hotel on earth. This decsion took all day into the next one when I was supposed to be up in that area, but without a real reservation, I ended up having to cancel my plans for the day. I'm not happy with Trip Advisor either for putting this over to the Chalet Manager instead of pulling rank for my mistake.
