Positive: Employee at the front desk was so attentive and amazing. The valet was more than kind and patient with my family greeting each other after not seeing each other for 7 years and helping my elderly aunt and uncle. It made the arrival for them easy. Negative: ""

I just love this place. The hotel is hip with historic authenticity. Love the Kimpton social hour and relaxed environment. There are two restaurants. The rooftop has firepits and is cozy during the winter. The Mediterranean restaurant downstairs had an excellent breakfast and a great vibe for dinner. From the folks at reception, to the social hour host, to the breakfast servers, servers at both restaurants and the text from housekeeping to check in on me, the service was impeccable and always with a smile. The room was also fantastic. It was newly renovated, spacious and had upscale finishes. The area is historic with plenty of restaurant options. Very walkable. Try a chocolate glazed at Valentino's. A+ experience. Thanks!

This hotel has it all. A lively lobby thanks to the awesome social hour with complimentary drinks and snacks, quiet rooms, a great rooftop bar, all in a fun and walkable neighborhood. Pets are welcome with no extra fees which is one of the reasons we keep coming back—easy to plan a weekend trip without making other arrangements for our dog. The rooms are very nice with quality fixtures that don’t feel like they get torn out and redone every few years, they’re just done right. The staff is available, friendly, and responsive. Always a great experience.

So glad I finally stayed here as a Milwaukee native. Wow! Great hotel, super accommodating and comfy. Especially the spa upgrade room. Clean, well outfitted gym. One of my favorite bars in the city is in the rooftop bar overlooking the Milwaukee skyline. You also have a solid restaurant on the first floor. Smack dab in the middle of the 3rd ward, a higher end, artsy part of Milwaukee. Great spot.

The service was underwhelming when we checked in. We went up to our room and were given a room right in front of the mechanicals on the roof. There was an overwhelming musty smell in the carpet by the desk and fridge. I went back down to the front desk and requested a new room. I was told that they were fully booked and would not know if the could move me for a couple of hours. Noone called or even followed up. So for $300 a night I got to stay in a musty room with a view of the mechanicals. Lets say I will go back to st. Kate's for my milwaukee trips going forward. The place is not worth the price. The TV selection is the worst I have seen at any hotel. The restaurant was nice but way overpriced and the service was slow.

One of the best overall hotels I’ve stayed at. We live in Chicago and come up to Milwaukee periodically and the Journeyman is the only hotel we want to stay at. The atmosphere, the amenities (dog friendly), restaurant, lounge, and an incredible rooftop open bar. But most of all the staff are at another level. From the front desk, to the maître d’, to the bartenders, to the bellmen, they seem to only hire the most engaging and pleasant people. If you are fortunate enough, the bartender Peter will be working during your stay. Absolutely the best and nicest person. And they are more than just dog friendly, they truly love dogs and it shows. Thank you Journeyman staff!!

We had such an amazing stay here! The staff truly goes above and beyond—everyone we encountered was so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spotless, updated, and have a modern feel that made us instantly comfortable. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, with a cozy fireplace and even a pool table that gave the space such a fun, inviting vibe. Another highlight is that the hotel is connected to a restaurant and bar with incredible food—you can even charge meals straight to your room, which made everything super convenient. On top of that, the location couldn’t be better. Right in the heart of the Third Ward, you’re surrounded by shops, restaurants, and plenty to explore within walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milwaukee—we’ll definitely be back!
