We spent three wonderful nights at Hotel Maison Métier, and it quickly became one of our favorite hotel stays. Perfectly located and full of character, Maison Métier is a fantastic choice for a romantic long-weekend getaway. The hotel feels cozy, intimate, and completely transportive. The public spaces are beautifully decorated, with art and details that make you want to slow down and take it all in. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the start. Our room felt more like a suite and was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing. Even with its vintage charm, everything felt modern and easy: great temperature control, strong water pressure, and lovely lighting. We loved the little extras including the honor bar in the lounge, breakfast in the private dining room, morning coffee delivered to our room in insulated tumblers, and the hidden speakeasy tucked behind a secret panel.
My husband and I were beyond delighted with a stay at Maison Metier to celebrate our anniversary. The design of the beautiful building was textural and lush...and the storytelling of the appointments was exceptional and hi end. The location was perfect for exploring the city. The room was extemely comfortable and the bath experience was fantastic. Such a gorgeous space and water pressure was wonderful. The coffee brought to your room in the morning was such a treat, as were the evening wine and charcuterie, the honor bar, and nightly cookies. It really made us feel so cared for and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally attentive and kind. We ate and drank at Salon Salon (and had one of the best cocktails ever). and had breakfast at the hotel in the morning. All the food and drink was extra special and elevated the entire experience. We can't wait to come back to stay. Bravo on creating one of the best hotel stays we've ever enjoyed.
My daughter and I stayed here this month and although I do have one gripe about the hotel location, I want to start with the positives!!! If you are looking for a boutique hotel with all the feels of old NOLA with a clean, updated presence, this is THE place. If you want to stay somewhere unlike anywhere you've stayed before, this is it as well! The thing about this hotel is that it isn't just a place to go back to after vacationing all day, it is a genuine part of the vacation! It is small and therefore can't be crowded. It also feels so comfortable, like you are coming HOME each night . The furnishings are beautiful, the preservation of the rooms and entry are perfect and the speakeasy is the COOLEST THING you will ever experience in a bar. Seriously amazing. The bathrooms have real marble floors and showers with so many fun vintage and updated details in the room. Just perfection and our room was impeccably clean. Turndown service is the best - they bring you ice, macaroons in a glass cloche, and tidy up your room. The staff is SO kind and friendly!!!! Every single person that works there is attentive, nice, and available to help you. We loved the 6pm charcuterie and wine in the lobby and the room service breakfast was AMAZING! Everything was presented beautifully and gourmet (with edible flowers) and came quickly to our room. You can also eat downstairs, but we are late sleepers, so we opted for room service. There is a great restaurant called Tacos del Cartel nearby and a nice liquor store and grocery store all within a 4 minute walk. As for noise concerns, the hotel is near the streetcar, so we stayed on the top floor at the back of the hotel and the sound of the trolley was only a "whoosh" that started around 9am. I am a super light sleeper, and it was actually calming and I went right back to sleep.. Very unlike me, but honestly, I slept better in that room that I normally do in hotels and if you bring a travel sized white noise machine, it will easily mask the sound and you will be all set! The only negative thing I have to say is that this hotel is absolutely NOT within a short walk of the French Quarter or Bourbon Street! You think a 30 minute walk is no big deal, but you will be crossing a huge intersection and street car/trolley line (about 10 lanes wide) and through the actual downtown/city to get places all the while putting yourself in some potential risky situations. If we had done that, we would have also wasted a collective 10 hours of our vacation time just walking through an unscenic area. So, we spent about $400 on Uber rides that we weren't planning on spending. We noticed that most guests were getting rides each day as well, so if you stay here, plan Uber rides into your budget, but don't let that keep you from staying here because it was an absolutely unique experience that I would 100% pay for again.
We booked two rooms for our family of four while staying in New Orleans and had a wonderful experience. The staff truly couldn’t have been more helpful & friendly. The rooms are generously sized, with beautiful bed linen and very comfortable pillows. The downstairs speakeasy is a fantastic bar, with a great food and cocktail/wine list.|There is a beautifully decorated lounge area between the lobby and restaurant. It’s a great place to meet for complimentary wine and nibbles in the evening. |Highly recommend.
My wife and I stayed at Maison Métier for four nights in December. Overall, our experience was a bit of a mixed bag. While we enjoyed our stay, given the price point and recognition of the hotel, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.||The location is excellent. It’s tucked away in a quiet part of the Warehouse District, which we really appreciated, yet still within walking distance of French Quarter attractions, the more residential and charming Garden District, and with easy access to the trolley for longer excursions.||The décor and cleanliness were wonderful. The hotel is beautifully designed, and we loved the aesthetic and furnishings throughout the room, bathroom, and common areas. We stayed in a Luxury Deluxe King, which was a nice size and featured a beautiful bathtub and separate shower. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and we appreciated being able to stream to the TV with Google (although the setup for iPhones was a little tricky) and turndown service is always a nice and appreciated touch.||Service throughout the hotel was inconsistent. There were two standout staff members—Byron, who worked the front desk in the mornings, and Angelo, who worked as a porter in the evenings. They were exceptionally friendly, professional, and helpful, and truly made us feel welcome. The housekeepers we interacted with were also very kind and did a great job. ||Many of the other staff members seemed indifferent and not particularly welcoming, and the hotel often felt understaffed. There were multiple times we couldn’t reach the front desk by phone and once even had to call from an external line. Some simple requests required multiple follow-ups.|One small but telling example: we asked if they had bubble bath, and the staff seemed confused. They eventually checked on bath bombs but did not have any available. For a hotel of this caliber—especially one with beautiful soaking tubs—this felt like something they should have gone out of their way to provide.||We had a daily $60 breakfast credit, which was a very nice perk, and the food itself was very good. The servers were kind and did a good job, though service could be slow at times, which wasn’t an issue for us. That said, if breakfast were not included, I likely would have eaten elsewhere, as the prices are quite high. There is also a 20% service charge added to the bill, which the front desk stated goes directly to the servers; we still tipped extra a few times for good service.|The complimentary offerings were a mix. The free cookies in the lobby in the evenings were delightful and a highlight. The complimentary wine and charcuterie, however, were just okay. The boards were very small and ran out quickly, which made it feel less like a true luxury amenity.||We ordered room service one night (from the same kitchen as Salon Salon). The food arrived quickly and hot. The burger with truffle fries was very tasty. The French onion soup, however, was disappointing—it was essentially caramelized onions over Gruyère with no broth. We called because it was not at all what we expected, and to their credit, they did send something else up free of charge. Placing the order itself was a little awkward, as the front desk didn’t seem fully familiar with the menu and several items were unavailable despite it not being late.||Salon Salon was underwhelming overall. The bartender was a bit rough around the edges, and the drinks were just okay.||One of my biggest disappointments was the coffee. While I loved the idea of complimentary morning coffee and having it delivered to the room, it appeared to be the same complimentary coffee served in the lobby and restaurant, and it was extremely weak—so light it barely tasted like coffee. I drink a lot of coffee, and this was honestly unenjoyable. There was also no in-room coffee option, which would have been nice in the afternoons or evenings. A Nespresso machine would have made a big difference.||To be fair, I had high expectations given the high price point, the exceptional reviews the hotel has received, and its Michelin recognition. While there were things we truly enjoyed, the experience did not consistently meet the standards those accolades and reviews suggest. We had a nice time overall, but unless the price were significantly better, I likely would not choose to stay here again.
We had an exceptional stay at Maison Metier. Every aspect of our experience was outstanding - from the genuinely warm and attentive staff to the impeccable service throughout our visit. The room was spotlessly clean with an incredibly comfortable bed, and both the breakfast and room service exceeded our expectations. What stood out most was the staff's clear pride in their work and attention to detail. They truly elevated our New Orleans holiday experience, making our stay at Maison Metier one of the highlights of the entire trip. Highly recommend!
I thoroughly enjoyed my four night stay while in town for business. I'll start by saying that I don't normally like to stay at historic hotels, but based on the reviews and photos, I decided to give this a chance. I'm so glad I did and can't imagine staying elsewhere in Nola. ||As a globalist, I used an SUA for a confirmed suite upgrade for my stay. Not only was my room available for early check-in, but I was assigned a suite with almost 20 foot ceilings. It was pretty spectacular, both aesthetically and clean. At check-in, Byron could not have been more helpful and was a pleasure to chat with the entirety of my stay. ||Housekeeping was great. I really like the creative system of handing a tassel to the front desk each day when leaving your room to indicate it's ready for cleaning. My room was cleaned and received turn down service (with macaroons) each day without issue. ||Breakfast was excellent in the morning, both the food and service. Thaddeus is a credit to the hotel and I enjoyed chatting with him each morning while eating breakfast. The globalist breakfast benefit was applied without issue. ||I was a little concerned about the potential for streetcar noise to keep me up at night, but it was a non-issue. I slept great, it was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. ||I used the fitness center facility at the sister property next door, The Barnett, and it was great. ||As far as location, my conference was down at the Hilton Riverfront and it was a super easy walk, about 10 minutes, and I did that all times of day and night without issue. I liked being not on top of the French Quarter, it was close enough to be an easy walk, but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Additionally, there were some great restaurants within a block or two. I really enjoyed Pizza Luna and the hotels own speakeasy, Salon Salon. It's pretty cool walking thru a hidden door into Salon Salon, the vibe was excellent, great service, and good food and drinks.
