This hotel was recently added to the Marriott portfolio. We checked in without knowing it was being renovated. It was indeed in need of renovation. The lobby area is terrific but the rooms themselves are dated and cramped. Would not recommend this place until completion of work. The best thing about it is the proximity to Rittenhouse Square, shops, restaurants, etc. James at the front desk was helpful taking care of a problem with cold water in our shower. And Steve the bellman was a gentleman and helpful as well.
While the Warwick is an older hotel, and was the place to stay years ago it appears to need some help and prioritization Upon initial use of the room bathroom, the toilet would not fill after flushing. Was fixed by maintenance but was told they didn’t have the right part and that hopefully it will work for our stay Outlets near one side of the bed did not work Shower water was either freezing cold or scalding hot; no in between despite asking for assistance to repair Room never serviced one day of the 3 nights Some finishes/hardware falling off the wall/door On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable despite the pillows not so much (this appears to be the case for all hotels)
The rooms are dated. The plumbing is old and loud. A few times during my stay, the toilet started running in the middle of the night and was loud enough to wake me up. I could hear my neighbors showering and flushing their toilets. There's no USB outlet available in the room. My room had an iHome, but unfortunately I haven't traveled with an iPod in more than 10 years and the iHome was broken anyway. I would have appreciated coffee being available in the lobby for guests. It feels a little ridiculous to have to pay $5 for a cup of drip coffee in the cafe after paying over $200/night for my room. The staff were all friendly, but I don't see myself staying here again.
I want to thank Tavia and Francesca for their hospitable welcome to the Warwick last night. They were so kind to upgrade us for my birthday. Tavia even went up to the room to personally make sure that the room was made up and ready for us. We can’t wait to see what the rooms will be like after the renovation is complete!
Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the room was in unacceptable condition. The furnishings were extremely dated, with some pieces visibly falling apart and appearing to have been poorly repaired. The bed sheets did not properly fit the mattress, and the ceiling showed significant water damage. The overall condition of the room did not meet the standards expected from your brand. Additionally, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the fire alarm sounded throughout the building, requiring all guests to evacuate. The fire exits were not clearly marked, leading to confusion during the evacuation. More concerning, the lobby staff provided no communication or guidance. There was no confirmation on whether there was an actual emergency, no direction on where guests should gather, and no indication of when or whether it was safe to return to our rooms—even as the alarms continued to sound. The lack of professionalism and situational management was extremely troubling. Also your websites states parking is $50 and I was charged $75 after rushing to evacuate a not burning building with no guidance or help from a single staff member. Given these issues, I request a prompt review of this matter and an appropriate resolution. Thank you for your attention.
I stay at a lot of Marriott properties as someone that bounces between gold and platinum status each year. I seek out Bonvoy properties because so far, I haven't had a lot of bad experiences world wide. I wouldn't call this a bad experience because the staff was absolutely pleasant, but it certainly didn't meet my expectations for a Bonvoy property. First, I checked into my double "suite" and found it completely confusing. There was a huge empty space in the room, not even enough chairs or a sofa for the 3 adults in the room. The room was very aged, the heating system didn't work properly, among other features that didn't work - light bulbs burned out, window shades stuck, the bathroom floor felt dirty. Thinking there would be a place we could sit together and eat breakfast, we brought bagels back to the hotel only to get told that despite many tables and chairs in the lobby, a health department regulation said we were not allowed to eat there? If there aren't enough chairs in the room, and no common areas, the experience is not convenient at all. Again, the staff was pleasant, I just wouldn't stay here again because the fit and finish did not meet my expectations.
The lobby is attractive, and the staff I interacted with were friendly and polite, including housekeeping and the front desk. That said, nothing about the service felt elevated or memorable enough to justify a four-star designation. The room itself was dated and poorly maintained. Worn furniture, bubbled paint on the ceiling, rough and low-quality towels, outdated in-room tech, and "premium coffee" that amounted to basic packets all contributed to an experience that felt firmly two to three star at best. These are details that matter, and they were consistently lacking. Adding to the frustration was the parking situation. Charging $50 per day for parking feels completely out of step with the overall quality of the stay. Despite being told at check-in that parking would be charged to my room, I was later informed by the garage attendant that only one night had been charged and that I still owed additional money. This led to an unnecessary back-and-forth at checkout just to correct the charges and obtain a receipt. A four-star hotel should be able to handle parking and billing seamlessly. If this hotel were advertised as a solid mid-range option, expectations would align better. But when you claim four stars, the room quality, upkeep, amenities, and overall value need to match, and here, they simply don’t. Nice lobby. Pleasant staff. Overpriced parking. A stay that does not live up to its rating.
