Thomas Bond House

Thomas Bond House is a sweet find in Old City Philadelphia. The room and bed were extremely comfortable, and bathroom was the cleanest we’ve had at any hotel in the past few years. Towels were big and fluffy. Sitting room downstairs was decorated for Christmas and felt warm and cozy. They take great care with the place. Wine and cookies in the evening; and a continental breakfast that was outstanding. Street noise was presesnt, but not bothersome. Note the house is OLD, so you’re not going to be experiencing modern perfection. Floors and stairs are all safe, but you will notice the building’s age. We will be staying with them again.

Surprised my husband with a night here for his birthday. He is really into historical architecture and he loved staying in this well preserved Georgian home. Excellent location to the historian sites and society hill. It is very clean and well maintained. Staff was lovely. We stayed in the Thomas Bond suite that was very spacious. Cookies and wine in the evening were a nice touch.

We had a wonderful stay last week at the Thomas Bond house. We stayed in the Thomas Bond Jr. Suite. The room was beautiful and having tea and coffee always available was a plus. We were initially expecting a full breakfast, but they had enough stuff to grab from the continental style breakfast that all worked out fine. Inn was being decorated for Christmas and had an extra cozy feel.

Prime location next to a bunch of great food choices. Walking distance to most museums. My only issue is that our room at the top had crooked floors with about a 3° lean. They put the bed on the wrong side of the room, so your feet are higher than your head. I had to flip around and sleep on the other side of the bed. Beyond that it had some typical issues that you'd expect from a house built in the 1700's, but those just added to the charm.

I came to Philly for 4 days specifically to have a quest place to write grants for my non-profit. For the entire 4 days, there was NO WIFI in the room. Nor did other guests have WIFI in their rooms. Each day I communicated with staff re this hardship and my reason for being there. I paid over $600 for the room and was only comped $100 for the inconvenience. On my last day, a staff member said I could have a late check out of 4 pm as my flight did not leave until 8, as a way to compensate for the issues. The manager then called at 2:45 saying I had to be out immediately. The one outlet in my bedroom did not work.There is no heat - and it got down to 45 at night. There is only a space heater, which is not safe to run all night. Will not return.

Super! Charming Bed and Breakfast with wonderful staff, comfy room, terrific location. We loved our stay. Our "cold" breakfast was plentiful! Hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, yoghurt with fresh fruit and granola and many baked goods. Wine in early evening was delightful. Absolutely recommend this lovely spot!

We stayed at this adorable and comfy bed and breakfast in November, enjoying the soft bed, cleanliness and great food/drinks. What we were not prepared for (and maybe one of us forgot to research it before we booked) was hauling our heavy luggage up to the third floor. There was no one to help us with our luggage and the stairs are somewhat steep. There was no wifi, but we were within walking distance of almost everything one would want to see and do in historic Philly. My only major complaints were two: 1. We were not given a phone number to contact someone downstairs if we needed anything. One day I was sick and could've really used some assistance, but, instead, I had to go up and down those stairs to ask the staff for help, and to get food/medicine I had delivered to me. If someone could've brought it to me it would've been a life saver. 2. The rooms don't have individual thermostats. The house thermostat was set to "winter" and I was told it couldn't be adjusted. It was so hot in our room we had to leave the window open, and keep a fan going constantly... and even then it was so hot my makeup would melt off before I could get ready for the day. We took cold showers to cool off. We soaked our sheets with sweat each night. So, like I said, a beautiful place, kind staff, overall good experience in an excellent location, but the temperature, lack of wifi, and an inability to get assistance from staff without going downstairs made this trip a little more difficult than what we had anticipated. Maybe we're juat too old LOL.
