We got a king corner room on the 3rd floor for a special occasion only 1 night. Bedding was comfortable and room was clean but dated. Furnishings were old and there was evidence of a water leak sometime in the past. The water pressure in the shower was not great and the temperature of the water was not extremely warm. The service was great from the staff, check in was a breeze and valeting my vehicle was not a problem. They even had it pulled up and ready to go when we checked out. We did ask for a late check out and the desk accommodated this no problem. The location was nice for us. We were able to walk around down town and enjoy Portland. Great restaurants close by. We did not use many of the amenities besides the game room to play pool for a bit.
I booked this property based on my credit card which offered excellent incentives for Edit properties, I'm ever so glad I took advantage of this opportunity. The Kimpton was wonderful and had a warm cozy feel. From the cleanliness and comfort of our room to the wonderful staff and social hour in the lobby we felt right at home. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts at the restaurant and great drinks at the bar meeting many friendly people throughout our stay. We will definitely return whenever we come to town. Highly recommend
This was my 4th staycation in the last 3 months, I would like to thank the staff at the front desk for their hospitality especially Cody who checked us in and out. The two ladies at Il Solito were professional and friendly in the early hours for breakfast. One thing I noticed is the freshness of coffee in the lobby which I have an issue with many other hotels during my road trips across the USA, great selection of top brand tea. Todays afternoon Hot Apple Cider was superb, don't miss the Nightly Social Hour in the lobby. I had the corner room which I do recommend. We enjoyed our stay.
We stayed for 2 nights. Location is perfect. You can walk everywhere. Our room was on 7th floor and it smelled bad. First night we thought it was a cleaning product. But it was more like pee the next day. We had to open our windows. Pillows were not comfortable. Bring your own… Hotel didn’t have the bar or restaurant open at convenient hours. The bar opened at 4pm. Restaurant only opened for breakfast/brunch. I was also excited when I saw complimentary wine tasting. But it’s only from 5-6pm every day so if you have plans you can’t even experience it. Hotel had nice game room. We had valet parking which was great. They were quick to get our car.
My partner and I found ourselves at Kimpton Hotel Vintage on a quiet Sunday in the middle of November, essentially on a staycation. The hotel has what I would describe as an "old Portland vibe," lying somewhere between luxury and hip. It is situated in a somewhat central part of downtown Portland, giving access to pretty much everything downtown has to offer, be it shopping, dining, or various local attractions. It is also pet-friendly, something worth considering for pet owners and those with allergies alike. We were well cared for by the attending evening staff: Whitnie during check-in; KC, who valeted our vehicle; and Bradley at the Bacchus bar, where we had dinner and drinks. Our room was sizable and comfortable, and it wasn't even the nicest that the hotel has to offer. It was, however, a little chilly -- something that could be remedied by the in-room thermostat. Our dinner and drinks were perfectly portioned and delicious, and we would consider visiting the bar again just for the food alone. (I really want to try the french fries, which I heard good things about.) We would definitely consider staying overnight again, in the future. Hopefully, our next visit will be in celebration of something, and not due to necessity of having a broken water heater at home and wanting to take a hot shower in a nice place. As we are currently here, I will update this review to include other pertinent information, including the names of staff who will presumably be caring for us tomorrow morning and during check-out.
Good experience. Good downtown location. Good good and drinks. They have every day wine tasting hour (included). The only reason I did not put 5 stars was the rooms that did not really isolate the sound well from the outside, so my kids were waking up overnight (granted we stayed over the weekend, the room was looking at the street and 3 floor, and it's is a vibrant part of downtown)
I checked into the Kimpton early, which the staff easily accommodated. The check-in was simple, and the staff's attention and efficiency was outstanding. The room was well laid out, and very clean, which is exactly what I expected. One problem immediately arose, the room was very hot. The thermostat was set at 72°, but it seemed even warmer than that. I adjusted the thermostat, and that seemed to work. So problem solved it seemed. Unfortunately throughout the night the heat kept coming on in the temperature in the room rose. Because it was the middle of the night, I was not about to get dressed and call maintenance to fix the problem. So that was problem number one with the room. A second problem arose when I opened the window to cool the room down. When I attempted to close the window it would not close and it was necessary to have maintenance come up. They came up promptly and fixed the stuck window immediately. So that problem was solved very quickly. The third problem was that there were no robes in the room. When I asked for a rope to be delivered, it was delivered very quickly by housekeeping.||This particular problem with the heat and the thermostat was unusual, and because the problem was greatest in the middle of the night, it was annoying. I did reported to maintenance of following my departure and they said they would take care of it. Based on my other experiences with maintenance I believe that is probably true,||I would probably give the Vintage Portland another try if I return to Portland on business. This is based on the fact that with the other two relatively minor problems, they were rectified almost immediately.
