Portland International Guesthouse

I’ve stayed at several hostel-style rooms in the US and Europe and this was definitely my favorite. Check in instructions were clear, the entire property was very clean. Room included lots of places for hanging belongings which so many other places lack. Top floor had a full and half bath so I never had to wait to use one. Super walkable neighborhood and fairly priced. Zero complaints.

It’s very convenient for walking around downtown and Nob Hill. Both the bathroom and the private room were tidy and clean. Staff was really supportive. The only thing I was disappointed with was the amenities—there was only shampoo available in the shower, with no body soap or conditioner.

What a great little place. It was quiet, had a small but very clean and cozy little room. Check in and out was a snap. In a fun neighborhood with lots of great places to go within walking distance. Never stayed at a place with shared bathrooms before, but they were really clean, and there were only three bedrooms to two baths on our floor. Parking in the neighborhood is a bit of a pain in the butt, but that is no fault of the guesthouse, (just something folks should keep in mind when planning a trip) and they even helped get us a temporary parking permit so we didn’t have to feed the meters all weekend. All in all, an excellent little weekend stay, and we will be staying there again next time we are in town. Thank you to the hosts for a lovely weekend.

Interesting place and the location can’t be beat. We stayed upstairs in room 4 which was large with a big walk in closet. The shared bathrooms were clean and the kitchenette was well stocked (but there were no knives and no hot plate). Everything was clean. It felt like a fancy hostel. Only issue is finding parking but we were able to get a space in the street without much difficulty. I’d stay there again!

Highly recommended for anyone passing through. Easy in and out, super comfy and clean rooms. Super intuitive— it feels like the owners have thought of everything before I think of it. This will be our go to spot when passing through Portland. Convenient location with grocery stores, restaurants, bus stops etc. around. Nice hike up to Washington Park to see Japanese Garden and Rose Garden. Just GOOD! So good!

It is a hostel with self check in. I didn't see any staff clean or update hand towels when I stayed there during business hours. Overall it was clean but as more guests arrive it was less desirable. The wifi is horrible for the upstairs room. I had to use my own Hotspot. I think if you are on the main floor it would work well. The bathrooms have individual feet towels so that was a nice touch. The stairs are a bit steep ( attic style). Walls and windows are thin so probably not for light sleepers Street parking was hard to find as well. If you are tourist, I would stay closer to downtown for ease of transportation/food choices or inner SE for culture. The room key also works as the front door key ( see videos). That is interesting. Overall an ok place for a short stay but wouldn't choose it again.

Wonderful stay! Very cozy room, excellent location. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I had an early flight. Bed was comfortable, bathroom and breakfast room were sparkling clean. Perfect spot to stay if you don't have a car and are walking everywhere, since you are surrounded by restaurants and next to Trader Joe's. I look forward to staying here again whenever I'm back in Portland!
