We stayed in the Secret Garden room. Pros: Beautiful theme and big room! Nice jetted tub. Quality breakfast, better than I expected. Front desk was friendly. Cons: Beds are firm! Ours were both firm and squeaked. There was a day where most of the rooms were open to be cleaned. I laid on the beds in 3 other rooms, including the Enchanted Forest which is a diamond suite, and they felt just as firm. The other con is the room could be cleaner. While the tub, shower, sinks, bed, and tables were clean the tiles and carpet felt dirty (even though it was vacuumed), and the lights above the bed were dusty. I don’t know how often they do deep cleans or if they do at all, but this room is due for a deep clean and new bed. Overall, our stay was relaxing and peaceful, but we probably won’t stay at this location again because the beds weren’t comfortable.
Cute Little bed and breakfast. Went there with my wife for our anniversary. We have been to a few different anniversary inns and this one definitely has the best breakfast. Fresh, hot, and good portions. We rented the Phantom of the Opera room. Very cozy and quaint. Side note-I made the mistake of looking up the original owner of this house.(Emanuel Kahn) Luckily I did not see him looking over us as we slept. Haha
We booked a room and ordered the "crazy for you" package which is $249 and includes quite a few amenities including early check in and late check out. ||||Several items we paid for were not given to us and we were harassed by housekeeping at the regular check out time. When we spoke with the front desk about the missing items and not getting our late check out, we were told only a manager could help us so we would have to call later. They also double charged us for a spa package which was included in the "crazy for you" package.||||We have called and emailed repeatedly since August. The manager, Sylvia, is never there. The front desk workers say they can’t help us. We’ve even emailed Silvia directly but no response. Don’t bother going here. If they screw up your reservation they won’t help you. They’ll just ignore you and hope it goes away.||||We used to stay at anniversary inn once a year. Not anymore.
The staff tried to move my reservation to a completely different location because no one was going to be on staff that night. Offered a 10% discount if I checked in at a sister location. Didn't honor the discount. Croissant was soggy and moist, not flaky at all. Biscuits and Gravy were stale and tasted like tallow. Do not recommended this place at all.
My wife and I booked a room here specifically for the Fireplace on our anniversary. We showed up to use our bounce-back coupon and they would only accept it as gift certificate credit even though all the terms were met. We booked a room that was between Tues to Thursday night within the conditions of the bounce-back. They wouldn't give us the room unless we paid the difference, so I let them charge me with the condition she would speek to her manager to give us the right price. When we got to the room the fireplace was not working and the room had a very bad odor. We booked this room soly because of the fireplace. When I asked if we could have a different room, they could find no other room. We were able to rebook the room another night at the 5th South location with a fireplace. They honnored the bounceback. Still, Anniversary Inn refuses to refund my money on the first room even though the room was not up to what was advertised, had a bad odor, and we didn't stay the night. Whoever is managing this location the rooms and service are substandard and they don't honnor their contracts. They responded that I should reach out and I have several times and no one calls me back after they tell me I must speek to a manager. They are now telling me the decision is with their corporate office. Not costumer friendly.
We got a great deal for their Black Friday half off sale! 2 nights for just under $300. We stayed in the Hayloft, one of the smallest rooms, but it was super cute and really fun! It was like staying in the attic area of a house, but with all the amenities and rustically cute decor. The breakfast is even better than last time with a few more options, homemade!! Free bottled water and homemade cookies. Bed wasn't as comfy, but over all a nice stay.
The south temple location is challenging to get into. There should be a way for the city to put in a limited turn lane to turn into the parking lot. Otherwise you can only turn right to get in, and right to get out. The hotel is not ADA friendly. There are several steps from the front or from the back, and most of the rooms are not on the main floor. For example, room 112, is on the 3rd floor. I get the charm of the age of the home-turned-inn, but because of my knees I wont be coming back. The room we had was definitely designed for thinner couples, one side you cant get between the tree and wall, and on the other side you push the window blinds open. I really wish there had been a way to have the lights brighter, the dimmer switch gives some control but really it was lacking. The shower pipe goes to the exterior wall, and the heat/cold on it dont respond as quickly as the tub does. We found it lagged behind in minutes by comparison to the tub. There was only one set of towels, so if you're going to be here for fun-time and make a mess....prepare either by getting additional towels beforehand, or by bringing your own. The staff was great, the food was pretty decent. Breakfast was better than dessert, the sauce on the cheese cake seemed like Hershey's syrup, it didn't really fit the quality of the dessert. I feel like this is coming off as a negative review, but I really did enjoy our time there, time away from kids, and dipping into a different world by theme. There are definitely considerations for people to keep in mind, and maybe bring a roofer in and get the single-pane windows replaced...
