Spent one night wrote 241 booked it onbooking.com and 8362 room was comfortable seemed very clean. Checked out early in the morning and by 10 o’clock notice they had charged $75 for having a pet in the room which I do not have. Approached management and spoke to head of housekeeping. She insisted that I had a pet yet would not look in my pick up for signs of a pet because I just drove from Indiana. Did not show proof of such pet other than the room was covered with hair. I am a hairy guy and I have a beard. Contacted Choice hotels customer service. They were very helpful and noticed that they did not file a report with Choice hotels for the extra charge which are requirements. I have had this happen before they tried to charge you for miscellaneous expenses like missing items in the room or having a pet or an extra person in the room. I turned around and drove 45 minutes back to contest this charge. Head of housekeeping would look at you and lie to your face and front desk personnel were no help at all. All he could say was he’s not authorized to reimburse me now they will have to reimburse me because they did not follow policies when they charged me for $75 with no documentation.
The condition of the hotel was terrible…peeling paint in the bathtub, an A/C unit that sounded like a diesel engine, and sticky stuff on the carpet! But, that’s not the worst part! We were charged $250 for "tampering with the smoke detector"! The smoke detector was covered in plastic when we got in the room which, to me, is a HUGE safety issue! We got in late, we had been driving 13 hours and just wanted to get some sleep so we let it go! After seeing the charge on my credit card, I attempted to contact the front desk…that’s like an act of congress! Finally they answered and said the manager would call me…she did…the next day. After speaking with her for a few minutes she said she would check some things and call me back in 30 minutes! Well, that was 30+ hours ago and they, once again, will not answer their phones! I have stayed, almost exclusively, in Choice Hotels over the past 16 years and I’m currently a Platinum Member of Choice Privileges! Have NEVER had this kind of issue with a room or staff!
Would give zero of I could. First they put us in a room that had not been cleaned from the guest before. Then the smoke detector went off for no reason at 2:30 am and again at 10 am. The front desk called and said it was our room that triggered it and the fire dept was going to show up and it they did we would be charged $750. Then I accidentally booked another night on the wrong date, the manager called the cops and lied to them and said we didn't pay and had them kick us out. She also told them my friend and I were yelling and hitting each other all night in the parking lot.which was impossible because she was at work the whole time. Then she admitted she found my reservation but still refused to accept it and would not refund me. Its funny how the first time at 2:30 am when we were woke up by the alarm, no one from the office contacted us, only the next day when it went off while we were eating breakfast. I opened the door for room service to see the was no reason for the alarm to have gone off. And we couldn't have been heard arguing by anyone because she was at work. False allegations to the police are illegal. The room was paid for and the days could have easily been adjusted as it had been done before. A refund should have been issued since the lies told to the police didn't allow us to stay again.
No hot water in the shower. It was slightly warm but could not get hot. No towels left after the first day. Had to go to the office and request towels. The bathroom is not maintained very well. The commode seat was loose and moved around.
Once we had arrived , we had some issues finding the office, tried calling the number no answer , ended up finding it a few minutes later didn’t realize it would be attached to a restaurant which is fine, however the room was disgusting. Smelled gross. Floors not cleaned, bedding on one bed had some sort of white stuff all over the side, beside the bed we chose to sleep on had Bobby pins and hair Barrett on the floor. The toilet had hair on the seat and in the toilet. The shower was very obvious that it had not been cleaned. I get the rooms aren’t updated but besides some towels folded and beds made there is no way they were fully cleaned
Positive: Some of the workers just didn't like that this one lady talked about all the other workers when they been there longer then her when it was clean she didn't know how to do her job Negative: The one lady in front she was always trying to double charge me and was always talking bad about the other workers
We generally enjoyed our stay; however, we experienced ongoing issues with the television due to a weak signal. While we were able to reach the front desk for assistance on the first night, repeated calls on the second night went unanswered, and the issue remained unresolved. As we rarely have the opportunity to take mini-vacations, this was especially disappointing. We request consideration for a partial refund or service recovery in light of the inconvenience.
