The Grant

We like rustic, but they left a little bit too much dirt and flaking paint for us. Beds were good, great kitchen, relatively clean. My major complaint is this. I don’t know why people don’t understand that when folks travel, they would like to watch TV in their bedroom. No TVs. Only an Apple TV in the living room. I’m sorry, but Roku TVs are extremely cheap now and it’s not too much to ask. If you don’t like TV, don’t turn it on. I do.

Was confusing checking in. Person called seemed annoyed. We did get our check in. Place was clean and very nice & comfortable . Would recommend.

The location and the apartment were absolutely stunning, and we had everything we needed. The only downside was the constant outside noise—drunk people on the street, very loud music, and roaring cars day and night—which made it difficult to get much sleep. Since it’s a historic district, it’s understandable that the insulation is as old as the building itself. Still, the charm of the place was wonderful. I’m glad we stayed there and experienced it so we know. Restaurants, bars, and everything you might need are right downstairs, which made it very convenient.

The layout of the 3br apartment was good and the rooms were well-appointed. However, the bedroom window was right above an alley where dumpsters were emptied each morning between 5am and 6am. This caused massive crashing noises which would last anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. It woke us up every morning, rudely I might add. Also, know that there is overnight street parking only 2 nights per week. On other nights, you will need to park in the City's garage which is 2 blocks away and $32 per night. Daytime parking has meters and the maximum time allowed is 4 hours. Parking citations are issued promptly and plentifully, so beware. The location is otherwise good. Plenty of nearby restaurants and shops. Walking distance from the river. It felt reasonably safe and reasonably maintained. The ownership promptly responds to text messages.

I loved staying at The Grant! The location was perfect - everything was truly walkable, all the activities and restaurants were so accessible to us! The Grant was clean, great amenities, modern, it was safe/private, and the space felt like home! We can’t wait to come back and stay again! We totally would recommend anyone to say at The Grant!

The Grant was a perfect place to stay. The 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment was so spacious. It is located on Broughton where all the shopping is within walking distance. Pizza next door; Toast a breakfast place on the corner and the directly next to the noodle bar. Great value, immaculate inside and very safe area! Only draw back is parking but there is a garage on state street real close.

Amazing place to stay. I stayed with my 3 adult daughters. Tums of space and the decor was amazing. Everything you could ask for in walking distance. Even had a home cooked breakfast before checkout. Thanks for a great vacation.
