West 94th St. Pub

📍 Leather bars in Durham

7.4

West 94th St. Pub in Durham offers a mixed dining experience with a focus on a friendly atmosphere. The staff is known for their attentiveness and warmth, often remembering regulars and engaging in approachable conversations. While the food receives praise for its portions and quality, some dishes may not meet expectations, particularly in terms of preparation and flavor.

The pub's beer selection is notable, though prices can be steep compared to neighboring establishments. The seating areas, both indoors and outdoors, are cozy but can feel cramped. Overall, it's a local favorite for drinks, but the food may not justify the cost for all visitors. Evening crowds can be rough, so timing your visit may enhance your experience.

I wanted to like this place, but it was just so expensive for what it is. We spent over 96+tax for two standard meals and three sides (which we used as kids meals since they don't have any). Beer selection was good, but way more expensive than going across the street to the bar. On top of that, we didn't think the food was great either. The mozerella sticks were very greasy, the fish and chips were way over cooked, and the burger was fairly small. The waitress was very nice and attentive, but hard to make up for the rest.

The fries were not the best, too greasy. I had the Ruben which was good and a couple of drinks which I think were too sweet The staff and service was great

I’ve come here now and then in the past few years but have been making an effort to come more often. The staff are hard workers but always friendly. They remember us when we come in. The regulars will do their own thing but if a conversation strikes up, they are approachable. I should also note the food is always good. Good portions and worth the price. I’m not sure what evenings are like because I’m usually there for lunch or an afternoon drink, but this is likely gonna become my new neighborhood bar.

Overall good experience. Tasty burger, fries, and hard lemonade. Only let down was they asked how we wanted our burger to which we answered "Medium". Then came well done… Don’t ask if you’re not gonna do it. Burgers were seasoned well and enjoyable despite it.

I popped in here with a buddy for a few beers, so I don't know how the food is. The staff is very friendly, and I like that they have an outdoor area. Both the inside and outside seating areas are cramped though, and the beer is very pricey compared to other local restaurants and bars. It's not a terrible place, but I'll find another bar near by the next time I'm in the area.

Never eaten here before. My 20 year old daughter and I decided to try it out for Fathers Day. My daughter had some wrap and said it was ok but she's had better. I had the fish and chips(fries) with coleslaw. I had two bites of the coleslaw as it was bland with no flavor. The fish(Catfish) look like two medium size fried mozzarella sticks. Tasted like it was frozen battered fish sticks and nothing close to fresh. Fries that came with it were warn, no hotness to them. Been to many places who do fish and chips that charge less than $15. This place thinks theirs is worth almost $19 with half the food serving another pub/bar would give you. I will not be going back to this establishment to eat. Seems like a cool place a local would hit up for drinks but not for food!

Place is dangerous late at night. Rough crowd and catered to. Stay away.
