I visit at least once a week. Great selection of everything. Prices are what they are, MSRP with very occasional discounts on firearms. I have bought SEVERAL guns from them, process was quick and easy. Staff is helpful and not pushy, very busy firearm section. Plenty of ammo if your looking. Even carried 6.5x284 ammo so I had cleaned them out. Best hunting and outdoor stores by far in the area.
Great place for all sportsman types. Hunting supplies, Ammo, firearms, bows, fishing, golf, baseball, football, skating, canoeing, camping, and more. They have lots of other sport specific accessories and supplies as well. The staff is very helpful while not overly intrusive. They are there if you need them, but don't bother you if you don't need them. Prices are fair and they generally have good sales. Highly recommend a visit to see what they have.
I wish I could give a 0 or a minus stars to this outfit. They are not accredited by the BBB for good reason. Expect to be ignored by the salesmen. If you have the bad luck of getting a salesman, make sure you’ve done you homework on the item (gun) you are interested in because they won’t volunteer any knowledge they have, if any. Also, read ALL the return policies. There are several and finding one specific to merchandise you are buying is going to take a while. Patiently read through all of them. Even after that, there is a disclaimer stating that they can decline or limit returns or exchanges. This is another thing your salesman will not part any knowledge of. In my case, I got rooked on the Byrna Compact Launcher. They are really pushing this weapon. Even have a booth set up where they will demonstrate it for you, (but I was not offered a demonstration). It is also an item they will not refund, exchange or make partial buy-back on. The reasoning? It is a non-lethal weapon. They got me good as this is a $550 weapon.
We visited Austin in the Archery department and were truly blown away by his knowledge, kindness, and willingness to help. He took the time to show my son—who is eager to get into archery—the fundamentals, including what to look for, how to calibrate equipment, and how to train and shoot safely. His patience and expertise made a huge impact, and he is truly an asset to both this company and the department. Austin, don’t forget your "Maine people" when we come back after Christmas to buy from you! 🙂
Wow. Just wow. I hope this Wilmington NC branch goes completely belly up. I have spent thousands since moving here 4 years ago. Never will another dime of my money go to this place. I will drive 2 hours to Cabelas in Raleigh not to be treated like a criminal. Today I bout a very expensive kennel from this store online and went to pick it. A couple of months ago I had bought one just like it and while I was there I bought a box of 6.5 creedmoor ammo. The entire box of ammo would not chamber in my Ruger rifle so I brought it with me. Not only would they not take it back, they insinuated I bought it somewhere else. Then they took 20 minutes to find my kennel which I had already paid for. Only after I told the cocky manager I would never be back did they offer to give me a gift card for the ammo. I told them there was no use as I wouldn’t be back. They also said there was no record of my receipt but my wife and I have an account and supposedly got 340 points for today’s purchase but they couldn’t find any record of any previous purchases. I have bought high end cutlery, tree stands. Leupold optics and much more from this ungrateful company. Oh, and the cherry on top was not offering to assist with getting this huge kennel out of the store to my truck. I hope the bantam rooster who brought it to me gets a lesson in customer service.
Basically good service. The sole cashier was polite and efficient. I can't say about the relative quality compared to other similar stores, but it was there twice with a high quality air bed at an awesome price (the first time).
Walked in with my crossbow in September to have it re-strung and the guy behind the counter instantly said they don’t restring anything and dismissed us. Mind you, there were signs behind him advertising it and charts to pick your string colors. I went back yesterday and called today, both gentlemen I spoke to said that Sportsman’s DOES in fact restring crossbows. (Thank you to those 2 associates) I plan to bring my crossbow here to get restrung but it would’ve been nice if the associate in September didn’t lie about it in the first place. I could’ve been using my crossbow for the last couple months. Ridiculous
