Customer Reviews
Temple Bar and Lounge has a rating of 3.4 out of 5 based on over 379 reviews on Google
This is for their music choice and dancefloor, and vibe! I don't drink much and I love each time I go there to dance. Please keep that up guys! I don't want this bar to dissolve... but check yourselves before you wreck yourselves! Fire and rehire! I see that other people haven't uad a good time with their service... that's not good.
The bartender refused to serve drinks because we "took too long". This because we asked him what rum based drinks they have. He down right said "me and none of the other bartenders will serve you because you took too long and asked questions." Like your frat house bar doesn't have a menu and you don't even want us asking questions? Never coming back and not recommending anyone to do either. Plenty of other options that can take my money. Their loss.
Horrible - stay way ! The Asian guy bartender was absolutely rude and arrogant. We asked for mojito he said no, I turned around to ask my wife what she wants as mojito wasn’t available (we don’t want to mix drinks!!) ? When I got back to him, he said ‘too long dawg, me and other servers won’t serve you’. Looking at the other reviews here it looks like this place is just absolutely trash and now It looks like lot of recent reviews have given been similar vibes. Big Shout out to the older bouncer white guy outside, he apologized on the bar’s behalf and said a lot of kind words, which really saved our night from being ruined. We and all our friends left and will never come here.
Extremely unprofessional and rude staff. I went Halloween night and I expected bouncers to be stressed because of all the people but the workers here genuinely hate their jobs. We waited in line for an extremely long time because these desperate security guys started letting people cut the line. These guys were drinking and looked drunk. Which shows exactly how horrible this place is. The security started fighting with random guys who were honestly just asking questions and pushed them towards the line of people. My friend is diabetic and started feeling sick. I asked the security if he could pass me a candy because a bowl was next to him. I explained the situation and he started screaming at me and flipping me off( guy in the picture). Another security( he had lots of tattoos) started getting aggressive and verbally assaulting us. Then the 3rd security started being rude as well and kicked us out of the line. I was not drunk I had only had a shot I wasn’t messy or rude. I had been here a few times before but will not be back until they get better staff.
This place is awful. I went with a few of my friends for a birthday trip, and when the bouncers attempted to interrogate me and my friends less than two minutes into us getting in to see if we were the people who vomited on the dance floor, I knew we should have left then and there. But, we stayed and we waited for 45 minutes for my friend to grab a drink. I was still very much sober considering IT WAS OUR FIRST BAR OF THE NIGHT, so I sat very proped up on the upper back of the (sticky) couch in the corner, looking for my friend in the VERY packed dance floor. I wasn't causing trouble, and I was up there for less than a minute. Once I spotted my friend in the crowd, I sat all the way down. I immediately had a flashlight shoved in my face. The bouncers asked me to follow them. I wasn't rude, I hadn't said anything at that point, and once I realized I was being kicked out, I stopped in the hallway and tried to talk to the bouncer and ask him what had even happened, or if I can wait for my friends or at LEAST catch my bearings. He then proceeded to YELL IN MY FACE before I could even get a word in to get a move on, and that I won't be allowed back in. I tried to ask for a refund for the drinks I DIDNT EVEN RECEIVE, and the security at the front refused to let me get a word in, just assuming I was as trashed as the rest of their customers. Absolute WASTE of $27 for two drinks I didn't get, a waste of almost an hour, and a sad excuse for a bar. I'd absolutely get it if I was climbing on furniture drunk, but there was absolutely no reason to talk to me like that when I wasn't causing a scene, and honestly could have had a conversation with me instead of dragging me out to a back hallway. Hope they also kicked out the guys reaching up the skirts of the blacked out women in the bar too, but considering the other reviews I'm seeing on this bar I SERIOUSLY doubt it.
I really enjoy San Jose’s downtown nightlife, but Temple Bar & Lounge was a huge disappointment. This was my first and last time visiting. The bouncers were rude, the staff was unfriendly, and the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Honestly, you’re better off at any bar in San Pedro Square, every one of them offers a much better experience than this place.
This past Saturday, we had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a club. My cousin’s husband was simply waiting for her outside the restroom when a security guard came up and shoved him out through the emergency exit for no reason. He wasn’t drunk he was literally just standing there. Not to mention just before we approached the entrance I was taking pictures and handed my boyfriend my phone so i could pull my ID (at this point he was already showing the bouncer his own ID) and I accidentally handed my boyfriend my phone with the camera still on and the bouncer started TRIPPIN that the camera was on and I let him know I just took a selfie right before we approached them and its was not my boyfriend’s phone nor was he recording then or anyone else. That kind of treatment is unacceptable and flat-out abusive. Security is supposed to protect guests, not humiliate them or make them feel unsafe. Instead, this guard acted with unnecessary aggression and ruined our entire night. That guy was on a POWERTRIP ! It’s disturbing to think that paying customers can be treated like this at Temple Bar & Lounge. If this is the kind of staff they employ, I would never recommend anyone come here. Nobody should have to worry about being pushed out and disrespected when they’ve done nothing wrong. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
