Picnic island park, Nice area around shelter 602. Lots of grass area and coast line for activities and cookouts.

A great little place here in South Tampa. Picnics, fishing, plane watching, dog beach, frisbee golf, boating, and even some wildlife to watch. Whether it is a couple hours , or the whole day, this place will be your spot for fun in the sun.

It's a nice quiet beach. There's bathrooms/restrooms close enough. There's a good view of downtown St Pete. Only downside is there was smell on the day we went that made the whole beach smell like a port-a-potty. Since no one else mentioned it, I think it must not be all the time. It could be the old seaweed still on the beach.

This is a nice hidden gem in south Tampa. It has boat ramps, a short fishing pier, a fenced dog beach, beach volleyball court frisbee golf, reservable picnic areas with picnic tables and barbecue grills, public restrooms with outdoor showers, a kayak launch, and a great place to walk. The only downside is the beach is very small, the water is not clear like it is on the Gulf, and the ground in the water is a little mushy, and there tend to be a lot of rocks.I would recommend having some beach water shoes when you go in the water.

Such a lovely hidden park in Tampa. It has such a romantic and intimate vibe. Also, it has such beautiful sunset. However, the park does not have easy access to public restrooms. So, if you are having a family gathering or attending a party at the park, make sure to reserve the location near a restroom. Also, it was 5 pm on a Sunday and they were already closed.

So I went here to get a nice review of the area. It was a bit of a drive from where I was staying and wanted to help others out if at all possible. However, after driving in, I was a little unsure of what I would discover. There is an industrial area adjacent to the park. Which is probably the reason there is SOOOOO much litter on the beach. I was so disappointed that me reviewing the area turned into me being so upset with all the litter in and around the water that it was difficult for me to enjoy the beach. With that, there are several photos I just didn't get. People of the world we have to do better. When you liter, you endanger the sea, wildlife, and ultimately anyone who eats from the sea. One person and one act can make a difference. You can still enjoy the water, wildlife, boats cruising, or skirting across the water. Also, watching a plane or two fly in and out. I am amazed at the formation of the shells that fuse together to make a large coquina.
