Rathbone Mansions

Rathbone Mansions was the perfect place to stay! We came to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and loved the Mansions location was so nice! We walked all over the French Quarter and it was easy access for Ubers! We took time for a quick soak in the hot tub to relax. We had a suite and it was so nice to have extra space. It was like our own little NOLA apartment. The bed was so comfortable and there were plenty of linens, soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The coffee and breakfast snacks were very convenient. We will definitely be back!!

Clean room with a modern bathroom. Unlike every chain hotel we’ve stayed at recently, we got extra pillows and blankets. The checkin was easy. The staff was professional and courteous. VERY comfortable bed. Great location for French Quarter access on foot. The history of the property is also very interesting. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this hotel. The property is two buildings kitty corner from each other. My group had a standard room with the king size bed in one building, and the second floor suite with a private balcony in the other building. Both rooms were spacious, clean, and had plenty of character. I had seen other reviews comment on the water pressure in the bathrooms. If you’re looking for a high-powered jet massage, keep looking. But both room’s bathrooms were pretty newly remodeled. The showers had rain shower heads, and the water pressure was just fine for a nice relaxing shower. The main building has an outdoor pool behind it. It’s small but charming and has a nice hot tub next to it. The other buildings side and backyard was a patio with lots of plants. The location was great. An easy walk to a lot of different areas, but overall quiet and felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again.

Before going I got scared reading some reviews complaining about the area. After staying, I can say that I felt really safe. Yes, when I showed up around 1pm, before going inside, a guy with no teeth on the street asked me for change, but I said I had none and he left me alone. That's pretty typical city stuff for me, though, so I am not complaining. That has happened in about every city I have visited. I returned by street car at 10 pm. I felt safe walking the 2 blocks to the hotel. Using the door code was easy. I chose to use the parking on property. I called ahead and they moved my room so it was colocated with the parking, which was convenient. They also allowed me to park at 1 pm free of extra charge , beside the actual parking fee. There was parking available on the street so I wouldn't have minded parking on the street either, but I felt my car was extra really secure on property. The room was comfortable as well as clean. Pool area looked clean too. If you want to go to bourbon street area, street car is only 2 blocks away. If you are wanting to take the street car that goes by Jackson square that street car is much farther away, about 15 min walk from hotel.

Quiet little place 15 minutes walk from Bourbon Street at a quite reasonable price. The suite was spacious and very comfortable. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. Maid service was on demand and they did a nice job when requested. Minor problems: only one bedroom had a closet and there were no dressers/drawers in the bedrooms. The second bedroom had an open archway instead of a door, but the layout allowed for privacy. Not worth deducting any points. We'll stay again on our next trip.

Charming mansion stay! Great walkable area to everything! My room was lovely and the staff even left me a present in my room for my birthday. Both Michelle and Kiki were so helpful with answering my questions, as it was my first time in New Orleans. I recommend the Rathbone for its excellent service, great location and charm. Thank you all, it truly was a wonderful experience.

I highly recommend, the service is excellent and communication is quick and easy. The rooms are clean, lovely and you get to enjoy the restored mansions and learn a little bit with your stay. The street Rathbone is located on, Esplanade , is easy to navigate, not too busy, plenty of parking and plenty of places to patron as well and a short distance from the French quarter and Ceasars Super Dome. The staff is polite, helpful and accommodating. I've stayed at the Rathbone more than once and will surely stay again.
