Customer Reviews
Sue Ellen's has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on over 577 reviews on Google
Paid $20 to get into Sue Ellen’s on New Year’s, and the experience was honestly really disappointing. The restroom was absolutely filthy — overflowing toilet, trash and paper all over the floor and seat, splatter on the walls, and no sign that staff were checking or maintaining it. For a busy holiday night with a cover charge that high, this is unacceptable and unsanitary. When I asked why the cover was $20, the staff were rude and dismissive and simply said, "That’s the price," with no explanation and no courtesy. The attitude made it clear they didn’t care about the guest experience at all. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor management of a holiday crowd, and unprofessional customer service, this did not feel worth the money. I expected a much higher standard from a long-standing Dallas venue, especially on New Year’s.
I’m really questioning all of these 4 starts and up reviews. Why are yall the only establishment on the strip with a cover charge? Furthermore, the music is boring to put it nicely. Definitely time to have some dj tryouts and the decision maker should have great music taste or diversity. That is one of the issues.. the music has no diversity. Rumor is a previous dj was fired due to encouraging fight music, understandable. However, I have faith that you all can find a better dj. The current trend is true club culture, the 2005-2012 clubbing era .. the music, the look…come on sue’s get with the times! I swear people will be waiting in the rain to get in if you’re playing the right music! Life sucks enough right now people want to go out and dance!! Honorable mention: the bartenders ALWAYS hold it down s/o to the one who helped me find a truly 0% alc beer for my recovering friend !!
I love the energy of Sue Ellen’s and the gayborhood in general. I always feel safer and freer there. The Mustache Envy shows are always so much fun, and so is staying to dance afterwards. But I wish there were more non-alcoholic options and I’d love to see cleaner bathrooms. Overall, it’s a place I’ll continue visiting because of the community.
Great people. Great vibe. Bartenders take good care of you
I LOVE Sue’s, and this isn’t a review against them. I love the community and vibes it provides on weekends and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. HOWEVER, I’d rather be anywhere else on a Friday when DJ PNOI is djing. The dance floor is consistently empty when he’s on DJ duty, and I wanted to suggest a line dance or literally anything that would draw a crowd to the dance floor, but upon asking if he takes requests, he said "for money". This was really disheartening because every other DJ who has performed at Sue’s has taken requests, and the crowd always responded positively! I thought it was a joke at first, but he doubled down on taking requests for money. I was really polite about it, and again, my request would’ve only been helpful as literally NOBODY was on the dance floor. I implore Sue’s to get a different Friday night DJ because I’ve stopped coming on Fridays when I see his name on the weekly schedule. Otherwise, I’m a regular and I love it here!
Welcoming atmosphere; really enjoyed the staff, low key and genuine. Unique events too, like listening parties, etc.
I went on 9/27/25, for drinks pay with my card left a cash tip, later to get home and check my bank account. To see That bartender gave herself another tip i wonder why she does not give me a copy of my credit card transaction. Because that's never happened as many times as I've been here, this is not a good practice behavior to do to your customers, I remember who you are and I will be back.
