Surfsider Resort - A Timeshare Resort

Easy access to the beach right across the street. Lots of eating places close by Circut free ride service to take you to restaurant and shopping. Great management. Heated pool and great location

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation atmosphere with friendly helpful staff Surfsider is the place to go. Centrally, located on Ocean Drive, with beach access, pool, tennis and pickle ball court.. The facility is clean, well kept. Special shout out to Sam, Sarah, and Cinnamon for making our vacation restful. Thank you.

Stayed on the 5th floor for a week. The location is very good for not being right on the beach. It's on a canal that leads to the intercostal. There are only 20 units. There's parking. The amenities on sight are a tennis court and a pool table. They let guests use the neighboring pool, which is very nice, but you have to go in through their front lobby and sign in. It's a hassle and longer walk. The lobby of the resort is very small and dated. The staff was nice. Our unit was large with 2 BD, 2B, kitchen, W/D, dining, living, and balcony. The bedrooms are a good size. The second one (kids' room) doesn't have a TV, which was an issue. The master has a large flat screen and comcast, a decent closet, dresser, nightstands, and a private bath. The bed was decent. The living room has a large flat screen as well. Both baths were clean and sufficient. They could use additional towel racks or hooks. The water pressure is great, the faucet needed to be unclogged so it didn't mis-spray. The furniture overall was dated and should be updated. The kitchen has a newer oven/ microwave and fridge but an older dishwasher. The cabinets were a mess, wouldn't close or open properly, etc. The kitchen needed additional cookware (whisk, scissors, baking sheets, etc). The stackable washer dryer definitely needs to be replaced. They barely hold any clothes (2-3 towels). The dryer had a bunch of lint behind the lint catcher and could be a fire hazard. The balcony is a nice size and overlooks the end of the canal, which is nice. The downside was that there was no real divider with the neighbors balcony for privacy or when they smoke. It looks like some of the staff may be living in units as well. The building also has an elevator, but it scared us every time we rode it. There was a sign in the elevator that the building was being maintenanced, and we noted the stairs were painted while we were there. There was also a community wide power outage while we were there. Our unit lost partial power, mainly to the appliances. We had a lot of difficulty getting the staff to assist at first (we asked for an extension cord for the fridge so our food wouldn't spoil), but they finally did after I was extremely insistent. They stopped answering their phones despite being in the office and not on other calls or with another guest. We also lost cable to one TV and couldn't get timely help. The beach has a gated access across ocean blvd. It's a bit of a walk but a nice quiet private beach area. You're halfway between the Pompano fishing pier and Lauderdale by the sea pier. This place is average, but could be above average with some TLC.

The units provide ample space, but the furnishings are old and worn. We were quoted one rate when we called, but charged a higher one when we arrived after hours. The bait and switch problem was obvious since we made the reservation by phone only one day prior to our arrival. We checked out rather than pay an extra $35/night. Not recommended.

I come down to Pompano every year and stay here. I WILL NEVER AGAIN. Long story short I requested to cancel my reservation due to my daughter being in critical condition in the PICU. The response I got was sorry its already paid for and we cannot refund you. OK. no problem can we just change the dates a couple months down the road. Once again I got the same response. They will indeed rebook the room that's already paid for once again once we didnt show and get paid twice for it. Allegiant Airlines refunded a non refundable flight and my non refundable car rental got refunded. These heartless soles don't deserve to be in buisness.

We have booked this place at the last minute for our family vacation. After reading a couple of reviews, we were a little bit skeptical about the place. However, when we arrived at the resort, we were very impressed . The apartment was neat and well-maintained. Moreover, the area was peaceful and convenient. We had a great stay and would definitely stay at this resort again.

My family and I enjoyed this place thoroughly. The only reason I am deducting a star is because we never saw our cleaning lady the entire week we were there. Also it seems they're undergoing some renovation work so it was a bit inconvenient to get our bags to our room given all the scaffolding. And part of the microwave fell off on own. But other than that this tucked away gem was definitely significantly better than expected. Sam at the front desk was so sweet. She answered every question and was super helpful. If you are looking for a nicely decorated sweet with all the comforts of home then this is it. The price was affordable for something so close to the beach. You sacrifice the fact that there is no pool but with the ocean across the street...WHO CARES?!?!? My family will definitely be back.
