Customer Reviews
The Albion Manor has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 based on over 260 reviews on Google
A hidden gem! We were really pleasantly surprised that every food item was high-quality and very tasty and fresh. The french fries were super crispy and they will even taste good when they’re cold because they won’t get soggy. The serving size for the cups of chewy and French soup were pretty amazing and plenty of food. The sourdough that came with the French soup and shepherds pie was toasted and buttered and tasted amazing. We loved it that French onion soup has so much onion. The only thing about the French onion soup I didn’t like was it was very salty and too much black or white pepper. Is Free Parking on the street across the street. Upstairs has more seating and it’s very comfortable. On the ground floor there are flatscreen TVs everywhere and there are many boots where you have your own TV and you can sit around with at least six people together. The seats are very comfortable. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are very nice. The chef is wonderful here and we will continue to come back. My top pick for British food in Chicago!!! The chef makes it what it is. Great job!!
Came here on a Saturday around 8pm with my partner. I got a reservation for two although the downstairs was empty and there was a party upstairs. Likely didn’t need the reservation. I got the cauliflower wings which were greasy, the fish and chips, and we each got a seasonal cocktail. The fish and chips were greasy, the fish was bland and the fries were not very salty. The cauliflower wings were lacking in freshness and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were frozen. The vibe was fine, it’s more of a bar scene, with high top tables near the bar, not too comfortable for your short folks. The staff were nice but the service was slower than you would want.
Super fun bat. Went to the upstairs for their Christmas pop up on Xmas Eve and the bartender was so social and had great energy. The drinks were really good and cute themes for the holiday
Visited the upstairs "Sugar Plum Parlor". Very nicely decorated, and the food and cocktails were delicious. Unfortunately, service could have been better. It was a busy and seemingly short-staffed night. It was very difficult to talk to the waitress, and I was not able to let her know that I hadn't received the cocktail I ordered as soon as we sat down until my whole group had already finished eating. Chugging a $16 cocktail was not quite the experience I was looking for. Also, they seemed unclear on vegetarian and gluten free options - there are no vegetarian entrees and it will cost approximately $30 to build a veg meal out of sides equivalent to the $18 entrees. There was also some passive pushback when my friend asked about gluten free options - the waitress kept asking if it was "actually an allergy" and brought up her friend with celiac who "really" needs things to be gluten free, and didn't even mention the items on the menu that did have a gluten free label. The menu was also unclear - certain items had gluten free labels and some had "gluten" labels, and then others weren't labeled at all, which is why we asked for her suggestion. Took a while to get the check and finally ended up just going to the bar to pay. Ultimately poor service, but the food and vibes were good! And if she had help it may have been a better experience all around.
One well-poured pint of Boddington's. I forgot to snap a photo! Good cut of meat for the steak sandwich. Quality fish and -friends fries- Real chips would make it better for absorbing the malt vinegar. Monday night visit- no wait, great service. I'm already planning my next trip to visit the Parlour and to watch English Premier League.
English style sports pub with wood finished interior, a good amount of seating and an outdoor patio. There's some good happy hour specials and the food that we ordered was pretty good. Especially loved the parm burger. Nestled right along the river there's a lot of free parking.
This place is great! I went for Brooklyns Reverie, a live band burlesque show upstairs. It was so fun and classy and I had one of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted. Really creative cocktail making by a friendly bartender, kind staff, comfy seating with couches and small groupings for gathering. You can actually hear each other, something a lot of bars make impossible. I will definitely go back.
