Violet Crown Social Club

Violet Crown Social Club is a chill bar that’s easy to enjoy. Drinks are affordable, poured well, and come out fast even when it’s busy. The crowd is mixed, mostly locals, and the vibe feels relaxed rather than wild. Music is at a good level where you can still talk without yelling. Staff were friendly and didn’t keep us waiting. It’s a good spot to hang out for a few drinks without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

I freaking love this place. First time I’ve ever been here and from the second I walked in I felt welcomed. The bartender, Dee I think her name was, was so great. As a newbie to this hole in the wall she made us feel at home. I would highly recommend this bar to anyone that’s looking for a chill place to come unwind. Dee even played my song requests!

One of the best bars to grab a drink on the east side…in Austin really. Love this place. Shout out to D and Ryan! They are super friendly and great people. Carlos is cool too! I love that they always play awesome movies and that D brings TMNT to the party! Cowabunga dudes!

One of the handful of places left that's still unabashedly OG Austin. Cheap drinks always poured with a little extra love 😉 TVs playing sportsball side by side with good movies. Friendly staff, locals at the bar, spacious front and back patio. Perfect spot to start your night out or settle in and get to know some people

Used to love coming here, but after last night I won’t be returning. Took 10 minutes for someone to even look at me to order three canned beers. I finally got the short girls attention who "took" my order, but never acknowledged me and just walked off. After waiting 15 minutes at a NOT busy bar I decided I’d ask the other bartender since the other girl came back without the beers and started chatting up another patron. The new bartender then got in my face and started getting extremely hostile telling me I’m not allowed to "double order". I ordered THREE CANNED BEERS, not some mixed drinks, there was 0 harm done. I tried to calmly explain the situation, but he got mad at me and threw my money down on the wet bar counter. It was so awkward and the vibe was completely off. Real classy. We left right after.

Because it's not overpriced or ridiculously complex it can be considered a "dive bar." but it's really just a good bar. never overcrowded, never overpriced, always well stocked, a great watering hole with a laid back vibe and awesome food truck on the patio.
