McCarthy's & Toad

I came in with friends for a drink. Mccarthy's was pretty full so we sat at the bar in toad. There was a 2 piece acoustic playing which was fine. The sound was far too loud to be comfortable. I think a few decibles down in the PA system would have allowed me to stay and hang with my friends. The musicians weren't bad, but their voices were piercing my ears from the volume.

10/10 the live music downstairs plus the weekly line dancing upstairs make it the best bar around. The food is also great, the drinks aren't overpriced and the service is amazing.

Stopped off for nightcap, the place was rocking. Staff were friendly and helpful to the point it will be our local whilst in Boston. Great music and the criac was good

As a regular at both Toad and the Burren for decades, I was hoping that McCarthy’s and McCarthy’s Toad would continue to be a cornerstone of community. I called and never received calls back, emailed with no response, and then left a handful of DMs to their instagram social media asking "could you please share details about how one could attend events [comedy, music, DJs] upstairs if they use assisted mobility devices such as a cane or wheelchair?" Rather than responding to me or the few comments on their ads for these events on instagram, they blocked me. A "thanks for reaching out, we’re working on it" would have been at least something, but the shutdown vs engagement is truly disappointing. I love Toad. Independent music and community venues are my fave. What a shame.

Great location! Nice friendly environment with no TVs! Yeah! Plenty of plant based and other food options. Did not eat here but everything coming out from the kitchen looked great. Music every night at 7. Definitely will return!

Complete shit, bartender ignored us for 30 minutes despite not being busy.
