The original cocktails at bar beej are easily some of the best in Durham and honestly some of the most unique and interesting drinks I have had anywhere. I was blown away and I can't wait to come back and try every single one.

Best drinks in Durham! The menu is beautifully crafted with very unique flavors. They shared that they change it seasonally to match what they have in the kitchen so everything is fresh. Can’t speak more highly of the drinks!!!

Been wanting to try this for a while and glad we did! Cool little bar tucked away inside Cheeni. The drinks are definitely inventive and well prepared, you are unlikely to find cocktails with these ingredients anywhere else in the area. Give it a try for something different!

Kind folks, lovely drinks, and wonderful bar snacks. We spent New Year’s Eve with a couple other patrons and some Cheeni/bar beej staff, and it was right where we should have ended up. Amy has crafted an extensive menu of beautiful cocktails. It definitely gives Alley 26 and Kingfisher a run for their money. Drinks are on the pricier side of downtown libations at ~$15 a pop, but they’re worth it for a special night out. I can personally recommend the Mr. India and the Gulabo. My boyfriend had the Inky Pinky Ponky and Juicewala and was pleased with his choices. The bar also offers snack: samosas, masala fries, and aloo chaat! We had veggie samosas and fries, and they were hot and delicious. How could they not be, coming from Cheeni’s kitchen? All in all, we had a great experience and enjoyed talking with the staff. Will recommend bar beej to friends and will definitely be back.

Bar Beej is a cute small bar behind Cheeni. The addition here is the incredible cocktails. The bar serves the full Cheeni menu which is great for small bites. The cocktails are inventive, fresh and fun and truly an experience in themselves. A nod to classic Indian flavors but revamped and glammed up— putting chutney in a drink— it left us feeling nostalgic and happy. We will be coming back soon as regulars.

Incredibly well conceived and creative cocktails you will not find anywhere else in the world. Such a cute little space centrally located in downtown. Can't wait to go back!
