Unlike some other neighborhoods that are either up-and-coming or on-the-way-out or simply trying to hard, The Grove feels like one of those Saint Louis neighborhoods that knows what it wants to be and leans into it with confidence. Manchester Avenue seems to carry the energy, a long run of neon and murals and patios. I saw rainbow flags and dive bars and a few spots that seem just a little scruffy around the edges that keep the place from turning into a theme park version of itself. I have been here on foot and by car. By car, the parking was easy enough as long as you're aware of the hydrants and driveways so you don't block either. On food, the blocks are short and the sidewalks are wide enough that you never feel squeezed. The neighborhood feels expressive and welcoming, like it wants you to see the art, feel the music and take in the color. If I was ever looking to move back into a city, I'd be looking at places in this part of Saint Louis.

Went to the Grove following a graduation ceremony. It easily accommodated the large group I was in. The central bar was great with a fast, friendly, and knowledgeable bartender. The Jamaican restaurant was used by most in the group and the food was outstanding. The other venues used also had glowing reviews by my group. A definite place to return to in the future.
