This place is now University Hotel. The place smells very nice, the rooms are extremely clean. The staff is excellent and helpful. There's no room service but you can order door dash or have pizza delivered. There's a few vending machines and a great pool. The meeting rooms are large and the sound system is excellent. 5 stars
We stayed here for two nights and things were mostly good. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a decent bed and an impressive bathroom. Parking was free and there was plenty of space. The price was fair and the neighborhood seemed OK, with a good Thai restaurant across the street. When we had a small problem and needed to call the front desk, the staff member on duty dealt with the issue instantly and professionally.||On the minus side, the breakfast was truly disappointing, although that's the case at a lot of hotels these days. A staff member told us that there would be more choices at breakfast if the hotel was more full - which is a weird thing to say, since it implies the hotel deliberately isn't putting in effort for the guests they actually have. In addition to this, I got thirsty one evening and found three different drink vending machines on different floors of the hotel - but all three were empty and needed to be restocked, which was frustrating.||However, the pluses outweigh the minuses overall, and we'd stay here again if we were in the area.
This is not a Wyndham hotel as advertised. Online the rate said $100, on check in it was $148. The room had an eye watering odor of cleaner and funk bad enough that we had to prop the door open for airflow. Mystery stains on my sheets. The only reason I stayed the night at all was because it was conveniently located to a concert venue I drove 5 hours to come see that night and spent minimal time actually in the room itself.
Found a bed bug in one of the rooms. The room layout was great it was pretty clean other than the pet bug I found crawling on the pillow. The food is great everything else is really nice the lobby has coffee and creamer super clean pool rmmmm just be careful with the bed lol
Rooms were okay. Bedding was clean. Rooms have a fridge and microwave but are lacking an iron and coffee maker. The outlets in the beside table lamps did not work nor the one on the desk. Shower was nice with good water pressure. Climate control unit had issues staying on at night, so for the A/C to kick in, I had to set it to the lowest temperature possible (62 F). The hotel is pretty old and dated inside, and a lot of the furniture has stains and chipped paint. The hotel has been rebranded to The University Inn and Suites although it used to be the La Quinta Inn. The hotel breakfast is a couple coffee pots and a waffle maker… nothing else. Overall, this is a budget option, and nothing more. You get what you pay for. It’s serviceable, but not impressive. Would I stay here again? For a quick visit where I’m not spending lots of time in the room? Absolutely!
I spent two nights at the La Quinta Inn this past weekend. The room and the hotel were clean and all of the staff that I interacted with were pleasant. My 2nd floor room faced out onto University Ave. but I never felt as though it was too noisy. The reason I have given this hotel 3 stars instead of 4 is largely because of the free breakfast they had on offer. I arrived well before breakfast was due to be over but still the food they had on offer was very limited and the coffee was just plain bad. I feel like breakfast is something simple enough that if you're going to include it as a perk for staying at the hotel then it should be done reasonably well.
Very old hotel, doesn’t look that it has had any remodeling. I travelled with my handicapped mother that has to use a wheelchair or scooter for mobility and the elevator went down twice, we were placed on the third floor so we did have to carry my mother down the steps at one point. There was a roach in our bathroom something really sticky in the carpet and although it looks clean it doesn’t feel clean at all. The sound of the loud train every night was very disturbing as well. The only good thing was the off street parking.
