The Spa at Excalibur

3.5

The Spa at Excalibur, now permanently closed, once offered a gay-friendly retreat within the Las Vegas resort, blending relaxation with luxury amenities. The men’s spa stood out for its serene steam room and jetted tub, providing a tranquil escape. Guests appreciated the clean, well-maintained environment and comfortable robes, though some found the pricing steep for the level of service, particularly for massages that didn’t always meet expectations.

While the hot stone massage and aromatherapy showers received praise, inconsistencies in treatment quality and unclear policies—such as separate waiting areas for couples—detracted from the experience. The spa’s amenities, including saunas and hot tubs, were a highlight, though renovations and staff communication occasionally disrupted the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, its convenience and occasional highs were overshadowed by mixed reliability and value.

The Spa is now permanently closed. It’s MGM‘s way of saying they don’t care about their customers. The men’s spa is great. Very relaxing, great steam room and Whirlpool. They have a small area to sit while waiting for your massage or just to relax.

It was an ok rub down, didn’t feel like a real deep tissue massage that I’m used to. If you went off strip you’d probably get the same if not a little better for half the price. I paid $225 for 80 minutes, usually I pay $90-100 and then tip $20-30. So I guess you’re paying for the convenience of it being in the hotel but I don’t think it’s worth double the normal cost. The environment was good and the place was clean. Although I was told the locker room, the jetted tub and sauna we’re not available due to renovations, I didn’t notice any renovations going on at all.

Got an email asking me to arrive 30min before massage appointment time. I get here and they tell me I'm 30min early so I'll need to wait 30min. If I wanted to sit around for 30min I could have stayed in the casino to kill MY TIME! I understand arriving early but this is overboard. The massage was great, however the construction and banging made it not so relaxing or desirable. Highly disappointed! Only gave 2 stars and that was for the Massage Therapist! Lesson learned.

Spa Review I was assured that I could get a strong deep tissue message. I did not get that and when I asked multiple times to focus on my shoulders and upper back was totally ignored various times. I said can you do it stronger multiple times because this doesn't feel like a message they replied I don't do that. The masseuse was very nice and comforting but that what was I was looking for. I am a weekend athlete and train everyday and so I got the athlete message and it is false advertisement no athlete would have a positive result from that experience. I wanted to get a refund but I just wanted to leave and never see that spa ever again. The athlete's message was pricey so I as a customer I expected quality and didn't get that or anything close to it. You could prob get a better message from the message booths set up on the casino floor of the Excalibur.

I'm a big girl and I was comfortable. Had a robe in my size. They have a separate male and female spa. The service was wonderful. Had the hot stone massage for the first time and loved it. Used the hot tub and sauna and loved it. The aroma showers were great. I loved everything. Plus you get access to the showers, sauna, hot tub, and adult pool all day.

Was a fun spa. The sauna and hot tub was a nice treat. Staff was great. The robes were comfy. They have a stocked vanity area. It seemed very clean. My massage therapist was super chatty which was good and bad. The pricing was more than we thought. There was a broken door and the pool was closed. The hot tub area is a bit slippery.

Great massage, and it was nice that they accommodated for a couple's massage. The robe and slides provided are comfortable and the addition of different beverages and fruits in the main room are a nice touch. It would have been nice to go in a sauna and jacuzzi with my boyfriend rather than being separated... We didn't expect that and were taken aback when we were led to separate areas for the hour before our massage. I think the description of the spa and the general processes could be updated on their website. The area in the women's side with vanities for hair and makeup were really nice, but I would bring your own products... Whoever is stocking that room overestimates the amount of people who use hair mousse.
