Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Charlotte/University Place

This stay was pretty disappointing. I'm glad we only booked one night!! The entire building smelled like cigarette smoke, there were damages in the room we stayed in, I wasn't convinced everything was clean, and it just didn't feel safe. Our safe was locked upon arrival, our deadbolt didn't work on the door, there was a door missing on the wardrobe/closet, there was no phone in our room, and there was wall art missing as well. The free breakfast was pretty boring, but oh well. I guess you get what you pay for...

Rooms are not in the best shape, asked for a queen bed got put in a full sized room! House keeping lady is ignorant and barely understands English you have to bring out all your dirty towels in order to get new towels you can’t leave garbage outside of the door so they can come and get it like any other hotel people are standing outside, just lingering around sitting in cars playing music loud with beats .

Positive: Location it’s close to stores, the highway, and other attractions. Negative: A lot of people hanging out in the lobby and outside the building. The room was dirty, and when I asked housekeeping for new sheets I was told No. There was also a terrible Oder throughout the building.

Avoid at All Cost I recently stayed at the hotel located at 132 E McCullough Dr, and I have to say, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The rooms were absolutely filthy—the walls were in terrible condition, and the ceilings looked like they hadn't been maintained in years. What made it even worse was the atmosphere outside the hotel. Every night, there were people loitering around the entrance, and it was clear that many of them were involved in drug use. I was shocked to see the front desk employee outside, seemingly joining in with them. It felt incredibly unsafe to walk out of my room with that kind of environment. During my stay, I even overheard a guest saying they wouldn't stay here because of the drug activity. It was disheartening to see people drinking openly in the front area, with no one from the hotel taking any action. The lack of security and care for the guests is alarming. I would highly recommend looking for accommodations elsewhere. This place is not worth the risk!

This is absolutely Terrible. I normally do not ever leave a negative review but this is disgusting. My ceiling is literally falling off at every joint of Sheetrock from water damage above. 6 huge wet stains and the tape is busted loose and dirty. I can’t believe this is a Wyndham hotel. I rented because of great experience in Birmingham Alabama. The walls are dirty in lobby. Paint peeling. Two guys smoking weed at front door outside. With ski mask on. How safe does that look. lol. Windows on the front completely open makes me wonder if they have water damage and are airing out. I’m so disappointed. I came to see my son off to join the navy and I wish I could get my money back. I’ve used microtel become 12 times or so. I’ve never seen even cheap motels like this ceiling. Just wow. The wall light looks like it’s been on fire with smoke coming around it and it won’t come on it blinks on and off making a weird noise. The walls are filthy, and the bathroom curtain rod has holes on both ends, and they put extra screws around it to keep them falling off of the wall. In every joint in the ceiling is water damaged and the popcorn is falling off. And the ceiling in the bathroom where it meets the wall looks like it’s got mold or mildew all the way down the whole wall. If I was a man with more money, I would leave and throw this money away, but I’m not financially capable.

This is one of the worst properties I have ever stayed in and if it wasn’t for Expedia not giving a refund I would not have! The rooms where dirty just plain out dirty and the place in completely run done stains on the walls and showers floor not clean I was scared to touch anything so immediately went to Walmart and got cleaning supplies the towels were stained so also brought those as well. No frige in the room furniture dirty and old. Water spots on the ceiling! This place needs to be shut down people walking around outside all times of night and the people next to me streaming and yelling all night I had to call the cops after calling the front desk 4 times in 5 hours of being there! The pictures provided are very much false and that’s why it only has two stars I’m sure the higher rating are fake!

Been here 6 years ago and it was small but nice. This hotel has not been maintained. The low flow toilets are no flow. They used to have fresh waffles, but now they serve Eggos. Over all not worth it.
