The Morehead Inn

My daughter’s baby shower was held at The Morehead Inn, and it was absolutely perfect. Brooke, the event planner, did a wonderful job capturing our vision and enhancing the beautiful Library room ambience. She truly listened to our needs and executed everything beyond our expectations. The event was catered by Something Classic, and we chose their brunch option, which included an omelette chef— such a hit with our guests! We also had a Cobb salad bar, pastries, fresh fruit, and chicken salad tea sandwiches. The food was not only visually appealing, but absolutely delicious — and there was plenty of it! The team was kind enough to pack up the leftovers for us, which we greatly appreciated. The wait staff was attentive to our guests’ needs, kind, and professional throughout the event. I would highly recommend the Morehead Inn to anyone looking for a venue that offers something unique and truly special.

We absolutely loved having our wedding at The Morehead Inn. The space is stunning on its own, and we received endless compliments from family and friends about how beautiful and unique the venue was. It made for incredible photos and accommodated our ~85-person wedding perfectly without ever feeling crowded. The staircase, courtyard, and fire pit were a few of our favorite features. From day one, Brooke was incredible to work with. She answered every question, guided us through the planning process, and helped bring our vision to life exactly as we hoped. Having our wedding party stay on-site was such a huge bonus—we loved getting that extra time together in such a charming, comfortable setting. The Solarium was the perfect bridal suite! The catering was phenomenal (the beef bourguignon short ribs were a huge hit!) and the drinks were excellent and kept the celebration going strong. All catering/bartending staff were extremely kind as well. During our stay, Matthew was so attentive and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious. We can’t recommend The Morehead Inn enough—it gave us the most magical, memorable wedding day.

I really wanted to love The Morehead Inn. The location is beautiful, and the staff was wonderful. Matthew in particular was amazing and made the experience so much better. Unfortunately, my stay was overshadowed by an insect issue in my room (see photos). What was most disappointing was Hannah, the manager, whose response was dismissive and patronizing when I brought the issue to her attention. I expected much better from management.. I also personally observed mold in one of the rooms and have attached a photo. I hope these concerns are taken seriously going forward.

I stayed here overnight on business. It was so nice to stay here versus a typical box hotel. I was able to work by the warmth of the fireplace and enjoy some conversation with Diamond regarding the joys of old homes. The room had nice snacks and beverages, including an oversized glass bottle of water which I appreciated. Very cozy and memorable.

As a Charlotte Wedding Photographer, I truly enjoyed working at The Morehead Inn! It had everything my couple could have wanted and more. There was so much room to spread out, multiple photo opportunities, and it was just such a charming, quaint wedding venue. I highly recommend The Morehead Inn!

The Morehead Inn feels less like a hotel and more like a beautifully kept Southern home filled with charm and calm elegance. The interiors are light, timeless, and inviting, creating an immediate sense of ease. The rooms are spacious, quiet, and thoughtfully designed, with lovely details that make the stay feel warm and personal. Set in a peaceful, green neighborhood yet close to the city, it’s an ideal place to slow down, reset, and enjoy true Southern hospitality.

Amazing place to stay! Went with some girl friends for 3 nights…Mathew was amazing …helped us with suggestions for all the things to do and see in Charlotte! Robert and Diamond were great also! Breakfast was delicious, met other guests staying there, very Southern, and hospitable! Solarium room is the best!
