DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing

What a pleasant stay! My room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the service of each staff member I interacted with was fantastic. Although I wish the TV in my room was equipped with streaming capabilities, it was a large screen with good picture quality. The junior suite's sectional couch and wet bar make it feel like home, and the hotel's proximity to the Capitol and local food and entertainment was everything I needed. I'll certainly stay again, when in town!

Perfect place near lansing center downtown. Downfall is the lack of food options on site. Elevators were down for 24 hours because someone pulled the fire alarm and they are required to wait for elevator company to reset it. None of the workers told us the fire alarm was false until we went all the way to lobby and saw firefighters who were pissed they got called out for nothing. Digital key didn't work, had to go to front desk only to be told it works yet the app said I had to show ID first. Digital key didn't work on outside door of hotel so had to walk around to get into building in the snow and cold. Room was fine, water temp and pressure in shower was good. Beds are not great, husband had major back issues from it. Only one microwave in hotel and its on first floor by pool, gross. Pool was clean, but so much chlorine you almost choke when you walk in. The pool room is heated, but so hot if you aren't swimming it's like a sauna.

Our first visit to the DoubleTree Lansing had some issues that left us disappointed. However, I want to specifically recognize Alana and Danielle, whose professionalism and dedication completely turned the experience around. Both managers went above and beyond to make things right. They listened to our concerns, took them seriously, and made every effort to ensure our stay afterward was comfortable, safe, and enjoyable. Their customer service was outstanding, and they genuinely cared about making sure we had a positive experience. Because of Alana and Danielle, what started off as a frustrating situation ended as a great stay. They are a true credit to this hotel and to the DoubleTree brand. We truly appreciate how hard they worked to make things right and give us a great experience.

Positive: Cleanliness Negative: Walls were thin. Had a room by the ice machine. Room next door was playing TV at 3am. Both sides kept waking me up do i had a lousy sleep.

Very good location for our trip purposes. However, the service was horrible. Room did not have proper working heat, had to call for maintenance every single day during the stay. Hotel staff ignored the "do not disturb sign" and pre arrangement, entered the room without consent. After pointing out their unprofessional conduct, staff did not offer any apology. This is not the Hilton standard customer service, or any reputable company level.

Older location. Would've been better if we had fresher pillows. These pillows smelled like my grandpa and he's been dead for 40 years. Come on HILTON. You may not be able to do anything about the skeletons, but you can put some effort into the amenities. We try to stay at HILTON products when traveling. The last two have been duds. The front desk person was outstanding and she did try by giving us different pillows. Thanking her for that.

UPDATE: I sent them the postage, and I have received it in the mail, thus redeeming this establishment from my critical review. Horrible service outside of stay. I had a nice stay, but happened to leave my suit jacket and quarterzip hanging up. I just hung up my 7th call this week to the hotel asking about my jacket. They keep saying that they can not find it, even though I have given them all of the information needed (room number, info about the jacket, name the room was under, when I stayed, etc.) I finally hung up after 32 minutes on hold for the desk attendant to "communicate with housekeeping" for the millionth time. I will gladly update this review if they do something about this.
