My partner and I recently visited New Orleans and had the most fabulous time! We stayed at Auld Sweet Olive in the Balcony Suite and felt so at home in this cozy and peaceful space. The Innkeeper, Jonell, was so incredibly kind and helpful—she made sure we had everything we needed for a great visit. The B&B is in a wonderful, friendly neighborhood with a grocery store right across the street and awesome places to eat and drink within a short walking distance or car ride. Bonus points for the place having a pool and hot tub—what a great way to end a day of walking the city and having adventures. We miss New Orleans so much already and can’t wait to come back and stay at the charming and fabulous Auld Sweet Olive again! Highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to visit New Orleans.
We loved our stay at the Auld Sweet Olive! It was the perfect distance away from the French Quarter/Frenchman Street! It was a walkable distance, but far enough away to not be in the immediate chaos! The breakfasts were delicious, and our room had a very cozy bed! The house itself was beautifully decorated inside and out! We appreciated that they let us store our bags there til check in time. They couldn’t have been better! Highly recommend staying there!
Our stay was 12/8 through 12/15/25, and our experience was absolutely incredible. We saw other guests, but we were treated like we were the only people here. We felt like family: welcome, safe, and cared for. Breakfasts were bountiful and varied, always with a hot main and fresh fruit. And bottomless coffee! The home was impeccably clean, lovingly restored, and festively decorated. The king-sized bed in the Sweet Olive room was the perfect balance of firm yet soft. We’ve found our home away from home.
We stayed for 4 days. The host Jonell is very passionate, sweet and helpful. Breakfast is simple but delicious. We originally picked Courtyard but it doesn’t have direct sunlight and has some smell (It bothers me but not my partner tho), so we updated to Laura. The Laura suit is amazing, a little more pricey but definitely worth the money. It has a lot of natural light and it’s decorated very cutely. Short walk to downtown and quiet. Definitely will stay again.
We had a wonderful stay at Auld Sweet Olive! The room was comfortable, delicious breakfast, and a lovely living room to sit and read. The location was great, close to Frenchmen Street for live music and walkable to The French Quarter and streetcar line Jonelle is super attentive. One note, the Cypress room is next door to the dining room just for awareness when you book.
We had a wonderful stay at Auld Sweet Olive. Jonell, the host, made us feel very welcome from the moment we met her. She was very helpful in recommending restaurants and things to do as this was our first trip to NO..|The house is really cool--very colorful and charming. Lots of art work on the walls to admire! |Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We had a private door to the pool area which was really nice. The pool/hot tub area is very relaxing. The swinging chair with the green cushion was my favorite place to relax after seeing the sights. |The breakfasts are amazing! Pain au chocolates, fruit cups, quiche, coffee/juice etc....very filling and delicious....it's more than enough to give you a good head start on the day! |We didn't have a car on this trip which was fine. The house is within walking distance of Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. Give Loretta's a try for some delicious beignets--its just down the street.|We would definitely stay here again on another trip to NO.
We had a fabulous stay at Auld Sweet Olive B&B. We were 2 couples traveling for a 50th birthday and this was the perfect home base. The house is gorgeous and our rooms were clean, comfortable and unique. The common areas were great places to hang out, especially the backyard pool, hot tub and couches. We were warmly greeted and well cared for by the innkeeper Jonell. She prepared delicious breakfast dishes each day and had great suggestions for us. The neighborhood was a lot of fun to explore. We walked through the Marigny to the Bywater and French Quarter, and easily took nearby public transit to the Garden District and Magazine Street. Don't miss getting a slap burger at Marie's Bar a couple of blocks away too! Auld Sweet Olive B&B is a really special place and we look forward to returning.
