Hotel Bardo is a hidden gem. The hotel is quaint, yet has an urban feel. The service is absolutely exceptional: the hotel desk staff is very warm and welcoming; the door attendants, very attentive; the restaurants and spa staff, superb and lastly Franklin, the hotel's driver is nothing short of amazing - very accommodating, professional and ensures a smooth, seamless trip to/from your destination. Bridget, the hotel concierge is great - she definitely ensured you knew what was happening in the area and the property. Vanessa, the young lady at the spa was absolutely wonderful, patient; she assisted us in adding services to our reservation and remained with a pleasant and endearing demeanor. I could go on, but you definitely have to experience Hotel Bardo for yourself!! .
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Bardo Savannah over New Year’s! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Savannah, and the staff - many of whom were international - were wonderful, friendly, and attentive throughout. We booked through the Amex FHR Collection and were pleasantly upgraded to a Poolside Terrace room, which was amazing. The room itself was beautiful, with a super comfortable bed, clean and well-designed bathroom, and thoughtful touches like robes, slippers, and umbrellas. Special shout-out to Josh, the poolside attendant, who was extremely accommodating and friendly - it really made a difference! Amenities were top-notch, including coffee and light pastries at the Green Room bar, plus access to next door’s Saint Bibiana restaurant Club Lounge, where we were able to enjoy a lovely NYE dinner despite the main dining room being fully booked. Other amenities like the town car, Saks shopping, and bicycle rentals were available, though we didn’t use them. Free street parking nearby was very convenient. Overall, an exceptional stay- highly recommend Hotel Bardo for anyone visiting Savannah!
I recently stayed at Hotel Bardo Savannah and had a mixed experience. The Positives The hotel staff overall were wonderful. The valet and bell staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. The spa masseuse was excellent — very professional and made the spa experience truly relaxing. The Issues Unfortunately, there were two major problems during my stay: 1. Housekeeping Issue There was a large black stain on my bed sheet when I arrived. I contacted the front desk three separate times requesting a change, but the sheets were never replaced, which was extremely disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. 2. Restaurant Experience – Saint Bibiana Dinner service was very slow and poorly handled. After being tired from the spa, waiting so long for food was frustrating enough, but what happened next was completely unacceptable. I ordered a $50 fish dish, and a significant portion of it was still on my plate. First, the waiter asked if he could take my plate. I clearly told him I was still eating. After that, he came back and said, "Should I pick it up, or do you want to lick the plate?" That comment was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional, and completely ruined the dining experience
Hotel Bardo exceeded every expectation and made our Savannah trip truly special. We stayed in one of the family suites, which was absolutely ideal for traveling with kids. The bunk beds were a huge hit, the living room was spacious and beautifully designed, and the bathroom was enormous—easily one of the largest and most comfortable we’ve had in any hotel. The highlight of the suite, though, was the oversized balcony overlooking the pool. It gave us a private perch to relax, unwind, and enjoy the energy of the property without ever feeling crowded. The location couldn’t be better. Nestled right along the edge of the historic district and just steps from Forsyth Park, the hotel offers the perfect blend of charm and convenience. We loved being close to Savannah’s gorgeous squares and neighborhoods while still feeling removed from the more tourist-heavy waterfront area. Dining at St. Bibiana was another standout of our stay. The food was exceptional—elevated without being pretentious—and the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Whether we were grabbing breakfast before exploring the city or sitting down for dinner, every meal was memorable. Across the board, the staff made everything feel effortless. The hospitality was thoughtful and consistent, and every interaction reinforced the sense that this is a well-run, guest-focused property. Hotel Bardo is the perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and Savannah charm. Our family can’t wait to come back and stay again. Highly recommended.
Hotel Bardo is located in the heart of the Historic District and features all of the comfort creatures. On site the property features a lavish pool, restaurants and a lovely lobby bar. Check-in was seamless - if you’re an American Express Platinum cardholder - this hotel is part of the Fine Hotels Collection - we were able to take advantage of (1) early check in (2) late check out (3) spending credits on property for food and drink (4) a complimentary room upgrade. There is a valet on site as well, so no need to worry about finding parking. Location is hard to beat - right next to the park and access to all of the food, drink and sites to see in Savannah. Rooms
We had an amazing stay at Hotel Bardo for my birthday celebration! Check-in and check-out with Giovani were incredibly smooth — she made everything easy and welcoming from start to finish. We also had a wonderful experience at Saint Bibiana. Kristin took such great care of us, and her service truly made our dinner special. We loved everything about our stay and can’t wait to come back!
I rarely leave reviews, but the experience my fiance and I had at this hotel is definitely worth taking the time. From the moment we walked in we noticed that the hotel had more staff than your average hotel. We immediately felt welcomed and well taken care of. Both my fiance and I like cleanliness, and there was not a space at this hotel that didn’t meet our standards. We did the cooking school experience, yoga, a massage at the spa and it was all well worth it. Every detail of this hotel was well thought out. We can’t wait to come back again.
