We stayed in The Guckenheimer Loft Suite, and it was both spacious and beautiful. The suite features a large high-top table with four chairs, a wet bar with a microwave, a K-Cup Keurig, and a mini fridge—perfect for a comfortable stay. One of our favorite features was the spiral staircase leading to the loft queen bedroom, which includes a TV and dresser (no closet). We also loved the cozy sitting area with a couch and a door that closes, offering added privacy.||The bathroom was nice and roomy. The primary bedroom had a very comfortable king bed, a dresser, two nightstands, and a space to hang clothes.||During our stay, we received two drink tokens per day (one per adult) to use at the bar. Trevor was wonderful, and the Pulaski Punch with gin was a great choice. Complimentary coffee is available in the lobby each morning, and in the afternoons they offer hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and cookies—such a nice, welcoming touch. Free water and fruit are also available in the lobby.||The only downside was that one elevator in our tower was out of service. It didn’t impact us too much, but check-in and check-out were a bit challenging with a luggage cart since we had to use the stairs to access the other building. We also stayed from 12/31 to 1/4 and did not receive housekeeping service. This wasn’t a major issue, though fresh towels during the stay would have been appreciated without having to request them.||Valet is the only parking option on site however multiple parking garages that are close and in walking distance. You can research and get discount parking at the parking garage. I lost my parking garage ticket and there is an option to choose for lost ticket which was $42 for my stay, that’s a win for me lol
First, let me say the staff was great! Very friendly. However, the hotel in general really needs a makeover. The old carpet in the hallways stink, and it seems they're masking the odor with some type of deoderizer. The whole place smells like grandma's perfume. Our room: the bathroom had no exhaust fan, the floors were dusty/dirty, the hot water in the shower took 15 minutes (no exaggeration) to warm up, and the lighting in the room was dismal. There were no overhead lights, and only 3 of the 4 lamps worked, but none of them lit the sink area. Had to basically get ready in the dark. I opted for the breakfast vouchers with my reservation, but I should not have. The food was mediocre at best. For the prices they charge ($20 for pancakes) it should have been much better. Everything was cooked in way too much grease. I could smell it and taste it. And someone in the kitchen needs to learn how to use some seasoning. Very bland. They serve coffee with breakfast, but no spoons on the table. I asked for spoons (there were 2 of us at the table), but received only one. In general, the whole place needs an upgrade. The best part was the free drink tokens (1 per person per day) to use at the bar. However, if you go to the bar when it's busy and order wine, you may not get it in a wine glass. They were out of those too. Overall, the hotel is disappointing for what we had to pay. The location is great, but I won't be returning.
First impression comes with the Reception, Valet parking, Bell Service and location and all of this was Amazing. Starla did an amazing job at the reception, glad to meet her again next morning. Bell Stuff helped us amazing with our language at the elevator-trouble. Room was a "suite", very big and well equipped and super clean. The only unexpected experience was with the service at the bar and the breakfast. We got ignored for 15 minutes at the bar, because they do not service at the table, so we had to the go to the bar. Breakfast Service was even worse. No one took care about us, very rude and definitely not friendly. They should take more care about their guests than there cell phones. The overall experience was absolut ok and we will definitely return to this hotel.
The staff for most of stay was extremely unprofessional. They were acting like they didn't want to be there and that actually doing their jobs was too inconvenient for them. The our room was supposed to be ready by 4pm. We got there a little after 10:00pm and it still wasn't quite ready. She called someone from her personal cell phone to see if our room was ready. We had room 718. We were opened our room door, the toilet look like it was just flushed and the TV was on! It literally looked like someone was simply relaxing in our room before we arrived. We asked for our complimentary room upgrade and she gave us a quick no without even bothering to actually check. She was incredibly rude. She was also supposed to give us points instead of an extra drink and we still have not received them. We did use the drink tokens before they closed and our bartender was an absolute joy. He was the only staff member that night that was polite, professional, and courteous. Our blueberry drink was the perfect thing to take the edge off from such a frustrating check in experience. Even the valet workers that night was completely unprofessional and rude. The one who eventually helped us barely looked up at us to talk and simple gave us brief talk about using the new app to get our car when we were ready for it. I had to practically put the keys in the other guy's hands, as neither one of them tried to actually get our car key after the app was set up like they didn't even want it. The attitude of the night staff (sans the bartender), the way our room situation was handled, and the overall old smell, and slow flushing toilet than ran at random times throughout the night did not give us the quality sleep environment that we were expecting. Fortunately for us, it was only a one night stay or we certainly would have checked out early and took our business elsewhere. The only reason I didn't deduct an additional star was because our room was free, but for the night daily rate and valet fee, the quality certainly did not match the price. Our previous stay here was amazing, but last night's stay was a huge let down from before. This will be our last time staying at this hotel.
Absolutely loved our stay! The hotel was very nice and in a perfect location! We loved easily being able to walk anywhere from the hotel with our small children. What made our stay the very best was the staff, particularly Starla. She went above and beyond the entire stay- we will absolutely be staying here again the next time we visit Savannah because of how great our experience with her was!
Everyone was very nice. Room was comfortable & had a view of the river. The free drink per night was very much appreciated. There was street noise at night but instead of it keeping me awake it was more comparable to white noise. |Although the smell of dog while in my bed did keep me up one night. I am sensitive to dog smell so had to overcome that. I'm guessing one slept in the bed previously & may have shed through to the mattress. It wasn't a dirty smell nevertheless it was clearly a dog smell. The only reason I didn't give an excellent rating
Best thing about the hotel is the staff. Most everything else... Not so great. Cleanliness: mold on the walls and ceiling our first room. Moved to second room, mold visible in the air conditioner. Noise: odd numbered rooms are exposed to street traffic noise. Even numbered rooms are exposed to party noise, usually from 11-2 at night there is deep bass from somewhere... Surprisingly you don't hear neighbors from other rooms. Smell: at first when you walk in the room there is a nice fragrance. It fades away through the day and by nighttime there is a musty foul odor. It's probably from underground or just being really old. There's a lot of history in Savannah, and you're going to smell it. Lighting: gets relatively dark to help with sleep. Room layout: rooms are tight. Bathroom vanity is outside the bathroom. Even then the shower and toilet are on top of each other. Amenities: free waters all the time - great. Location: excellent location but you pay for it at night with the noise. I can't imagine what noise would be like at busier times. Gym: small gym with 6 machines and some free weights. No one is ever there so it's all yours. Other general observations: bar is good and bartender great. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I can't fault the staff here - the hotel is just really dated. I couldn't get over the smell. The smell is not unique to this hotel. We found other places with a similar smell, especially when sourcing air from underground (probably).
