We went to Daniels for out daughters 18th birthday. Our server was very good, the service was outstanding. It’s been a while since we’ve been to Daniels and our last experience was excellent. We ordered the 16oz ribeye and was a bit dry and not as amazing as i thought it should have been for $92. My daughter had the 8oz filet and she really liked it. We also ordered the bacon wrapped scallops which seemed over cooked and a bit rubbery, the popcorn shrimp was very good and the dungeoness crab appetizer which was also very good. I had the Daniels Old Fashioned which was excellent and my wifer had the raspberry lemon drip which she loved. They had mocktails in the menu which our daughter enjoyed. Overall we were disappointed. We came for steak and paid a lot of money and felt it should have been better. Ive had amazing ribeye and this just want that. We will not return.
Money aside, this place is a good "high end chain type restaurant" and meets expectations, but with the price tag and lack of excitement I really don’t see myself ever coming back. It wasn’t bad but I certainly wasn’t delighted. Here’s my break down… Ambiance: Pretty good overall. A little gaudy, but it definitely improves once it gets dark. Bonus points for the nice view of Lake Washington. Service: Alexei took great care of us. Friendly, helpful, and he picked an excellent cocktail for my wife. Drinks: • Raspberry lemon drop: perfect balance — not too sweet, not too sour. • Old fashioned: slightly on the sweet side but still enjoyable. Appetizers: We had the half-dozen Kumamoto oysters and calamari. Oysters were mild (good quality, just not that bold local punch). Both starters were solid. Mains: I ordered the 12 oz New York and my wife got the bone-in ribeye. Surprisingly, the New York had noticeably better flavor despite the ribeye’s size and price premium. Mashed potatoes were excellent. The Walla Walla Five Star Cellars Cab Sav paired very well. Dessert: Decent latte and vanilla ice cream. They also brought out complimentary sorbet, which was a nice touch. Bottom line: Good experience with strong service and drinks. Food was good, though not everything justified the price — hence 4 stars instead of
Daniel’s Broiler manages the rare feat of being wildly overpriced and deeply disappointing. The steak? Tough after two bites—chewy in that "did we anger the cow?" kind of way. For a place that brags about beef, serving meat this rubbery should be embarrassing. The mashed potatoes were somehow worse: aggressively salty, gluey, and gummy, like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp since the Bush administration. Comfort food should comfort—this felt like punishment. And then there’s the staff. Dismissive, cold, and uncomfortably biased in how they treated guests. The vibe crossed from "bad service" into something much uglier, and it was impossible not to notice. When you’re charging premium prices, the bare minimum is basic respect—and even that was missing. Daniel’s Broiler trades on reputation alone. The food doesn’t justify the price, the service doesn’t justify the attitude, and the overall experience leaves you wondering how this place is still coasting on a name instead of quality. Save your money. There are far better steaks—and far better people—elsewhere like: 1. El Gaucho 2. John Howie Steak
This place is overrated. Way too expensive for the quality. The service and vibe were pretty good, but the food ruined the experience. We started with the oysters Rockefeller and 2/6 of them didn’t even have the oyster, just the rockerfeller filling and they didn’t taste good at all. We left most of them uneaten and the server took them away without question so we unfortunately paid the $34. Then came our filet and crab. Filet was a little underdone for a medium rare, but the bland taste is what made it inedible. The crab was missing chunks of meat, and was extremely salty. The small portion was $70 and the quality was worse than a buffet. The mashed potatoes were incredibly salty too. They should distribute some of that seasoning to the steak. Nothing here tasted good. We spent less than an hour here and spent $300, and took 80% of our food home. This experience was regrettable to say the least. There are so many steakhouses better than this place. The Keg is half the price and double the quality! I will say the service was good, but the 20% auto gratuity should have the server noticing when the guest isn’t touching their food. It’s too awkward to complain, but I’m sure she noticed we didn’t like any of the food. It’s so disappointing how a high end steakhouse produces such low quality food.
The restaurant is nice and the staff attentive. Parking is available in the garage or at the hotel if you want valet. I really wanted to love all the food, but some items did fall short such as the Ribeye. I am not a huge fan of gloppy stuff on top of my steak... just salt and pepper. I would go somewhere else for a steak. Other items were good, I just wasn't blown away by the food. I did enjoy the dessert assortment. Give it a try. Make up your own mind. Ask for what you want.
Went here to celebrate mom’s birthday and thought it was a great way to celebrate her since the service was great and the food tasted incredible! Ordered the ribeye steak and it was very juicy and tender. For appetizer, ordered a lobster bisque, which was very creamy. The chocolate cake dessert was by far my favorite! A bit sweet, but it was a great cake with great chocolate flavor. The setting is also very aesthetic. It is on the pricier end, but if you buy the gift cards at Costco, you can save some money.
Horrible experience!! Went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had a reservation but still waited over half an hour over our reservation time. The host was rude. The server wasn’t paying attention to what we requested so the food wasn’t prepared as we requested. Had to ask for bread. Then the server forgot where she put the cake. Then of course the manager didn’t care. Will NEVER return!!
