Great, attentive staff other than the bar. We went for a drink about 7:00pm there were about 5 customers at the bar but the bartender was no where to be found. We waited about 10 minutes before leaving and no bartender ever showed up. Other than the bar the hotel is a great place to stay with pretty decorated rooms and comfy beds. We had a room with a balcony on the 5th floor and was a nice view! Recommend ✨️9/10✨️ for hotel!
I am blown away.. New Year’s Day. My car window got broken (not in their parking garage mind you) and the maintenance guy Rafael plus one other gentleman took time to vacuum my glass and make sure it was safe to drive. With the biggest smiles. The rooms at this hotel are very comfortable. And clean. The staff made this stay amazing. Turning a not so great start to my new year, amazing and with kindness you just don’t see anymore. So thank you for a safe and clean stay. Also the coffee……… *chefs kiss*
I've stayed here twice before, and I always tell people to stay here because the beds and the bedding are the most comfortable I've ever experienced anywhere (and I travel a lot). I love the location of the hotel. There are lots of food options available in walking distance, including some great food trucks, but also the restaurant in the hotel is really good as well. Powell's bookstore is only about a 10-15 minute walk away, VooDoo donuts is about a 10 minute walk away, the moda center is about a 20-25 minute walk away (you do have to walk a bridge to get to the moda center). This was my first time bringing a dog with me, and I would absolutely do so again. A dog bed, a water bowl, poop bags, and treats were provided. There are no places on property for the dogs to go potty, but there is the river front park area across the street and that was great. The hotel is older, therefore older heating/ac. There is one cooling/heating system for the whole hotel. Because it's winter, the heater was on. When we talked to the manager, Kennedy, about this, he was incredibly accommodating and brought two fans to our room, which helped a lot! All of the staff were very kind, but I can not say enough about Kennedy. Aside from bringing fans to our room, he really went out of his way to ensure that we were pleased with our stay. He offered us the best hospitality I've ever experienced and I am so grateful for how much he did for us.
We had such a wonderful stay here. The hotel is well appointed, has very comfortable beds and high-end bedding. All the staff were so genuinely friendly, helpful, and a joy to interact with. We were central to so many nice shops, bars, and restaurants. This hotel is located next to the Willamette river and a beautiful park with bike and running trails. If you get a room facing East ("Bridge View" series) the view of the sunrise over Mt. Hood is amazing.
Update: The hotel was incredibly understanding and helpful. They monitor their reviews and found my review before we checked out. Thank you, Rose Hotel for your accommodations. I'm not impressed with this hotel. We are staying one night and I wish I had selected somewhere else. They allow more than two dogs per room- we have four, so that is great. The staff at the counter are very nice and helpful. That's about where the positives end. I booked a room with two full beds. They didn't have rooms with queens or king beds - I'm not sure if that's because they were unavailable, or simply don't exist. When we got here, they told us the room was being cleaned and wouldn't be ready, so they "upgraded" us from a room with one king bed to a room on the second floor with two full beds. I'm glad I got the room I originally requested, but it was far from an upgrade. The pillows are strangely lumpy, yet flat. The room is crazy hot with no way to cool it except to open a window to a loud, busy street, and the refrigerator doesn't work so all our left overs are sitting in it, going bad. At midnight, I finally called the front desk and they brought us a fan. That helped tremendously. The only place they have for dogs to go potty is at a park, across a very busy road, where homeless people live. There is no on-site potty place. The floors are dated and dirty looking. The T.V. has very few channels and the guide states "no information", so there is no way to look up a show - you have to flip through the channels. The WiFi is on an unsecured network. I'm trying to sleep, but it's nearly impossible. Pretty sure the room is over 70.
Rooms are a bit small, and the bathrooms lack a lot of privacy (no door lock and a mostly open shower) This is mostly where the negatives end. Good wifi, amenities, thick substantial towels and blankets, and a pretty competitive price per night for the area. The front desk service was the highlight, everyone was super friendly and always took care of any of our concerns so quickly. I would recommend this place solely on the merit of the wonderful staff.
This is a wonderful hotel in a great location right on the waterfront and a short walk to all the restaurants and shops. I stayed here for a weekend with my 10-pound dog. Dog-friendly touches: dog treats in the lobby, a welcome board with all the dog guests' names on it, dog bed, treats, and bowl in the room, and just the loveliest staff who were so friendly to all the dogs. The room was super clean, comfortable, and spacious - the staff also let me know at check-in that the temperature is in summer mode so it's AC but if I got cold, to just let them know and they could bring in a heater (I didn't need to - temperature was perfect). I love that there's a chilled water dispenser in the lobby and the pineapple cookies in the afternoon were a tasty treat. I also got a delightful cider as my welcome drink. Will definitely stay here again!
