AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown

The hotel is in a nice location and the staff was very accommodating but the beds were extremely firma and they did not have mattress toppers, I was given a second quilt to sleep on for softness. They also scent the lobby and elevator with a tobacco scented fragrance that honestly just makes it smell like a cigar lounge or an older hotel that once allowed smoking. It triggered my asthma so be aware of that. There were also some body hairs in the shower in my room when I first checked in. House keeping took care of it no problem but another little detail I didn't enjoy. Overall though it was very clean and felt very safe and comfortable with the staff. I also have celiac and staff was extremely accommodating. No issues with meals at all.

Great hotel. Have to stay there for work. Square toilets are unusual, but the rooms are good size and bathrooms are very nice. 7th floor has a restaurant and bar. Service is great, cost reflects the convenience of not having to Uber and plenty of room to unwind with colleagues.

The staff was wonderful, polite and helpful. I would not stay here again though, because it was just too loud. Between the bar nextdoor blasting music til the wee hours and the fact that we could hear conversations in the rooms next to us as well as the crashing of bathroom roller doors, not a lot of sleep was had. If you are in your twenties and want a place to stay while you go out and party this would be a good but pricey place to stay. Can easily walk to the bars and restaurants.

Stayed here with my husband and 2 year old. My husband had work during the day so I really appreciated the central location. My toddler and I were able to walk around and visit the nearby Natural Sciences Museum, and Marbles kids museum. Also walked to a nearby neighborhood for a drop in Toddler music class at The Bunny Hive. Beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant for taking in sunsets! Beds were comfortable. Hotel was clean and modern. Only Complaint: the door to the bathroom in the hotel room was a glass sliding door. This means if someone gets up in the night or early morning to use the restroom, the light from the bathroom shines super brightly into the rest of the room. Poor design. We ended up using the flashlight from our cell phones when using the restroom as to not wake our toddler.

Warning--there is an outdoor bar right next door blaring music until 1:30am Fri and Sat nights. Had a room on 2nd floor and heard every lyric and every word of the DJ. They provided earplugs as though guests then had to accept all responsibility for being able to sleep with the noise. This is 100% on the hotel-- they could absolutely spend money to soundproof the rooms better. Unless you get a room above the 6th floor, or you are partying until 2am, forget about staying here. Weekdays slightly better, but music noise until midnight nonetheless. An unpleasant bonus-- the cigarette and weed smoking from people on the street came into our room all night via the air intake vents. There are 50 great hotels in downtown Raleigh... do yourself a favor and book a different one.

This is more like a 3.5 but thats not an option. While the establishment is beautiful, its hard to sleep with the music from the bar next door. Went to the rooftop bar for a pregame drink and that too was a mistake as my single bourbon neat was $31 with tip. The staff was helpful and polite. Oh... and the pocket doors for the restrooms are frosted glass with no lock, would be fine for a single couple but my brother was with us, so the privacy left a little something to be desired. Overall its nice, extremely loud at night, so don't expect a great night's sleep.

The hotel staff seem really nice, but the hotel is right next to a super loud outdoor club that blasts music until 2am on Friday and Saturday. The rooms literally come equipped with a pack of earplugs. Sound proofing is very bad.
