The Dunhill Hotel

We had my sister's entire Bachelorette/Bridal Shower weekend at the Dunhill and they exceeded expectations! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, especially the penthouse! Every member of the staff was accommodating, eager to help, kind, and polite. We booked the Parlor room for the bridal shower and it was absolutely gorgeous. The lunch and service from the Asbury was fantastic. THANK YOU for making it a special weekend we will never forget!

Positive: Great location. very quiet smaller hotel. Lots of history here. very nice. Great food at Ashbury. Walking distance to plenty of places around the city. Negative: door keys are tough. cards and controls need to be updated. Had issues the whole time we were there.

What a lovely hotel, reminded my husband and I of hotels in Europe, particularly the bar,sitting area in the lobby where you could grab a drink and hang out. |Staff was helpful,bed comfy,linens soft and fresh. We were in Charlotte for an opera and the theater was a few steps away from The Dunhill. We enjoyed the onsite restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was unfussy southern comfort food.|When we return to Uptown Charlotte we will stay here again.

I hosted a luncheon for 22 folks at the Dunhill in Charlotte on February 6, 2026. The service and the food were excellent. The waitstaff of Sonia and Beth were especially helpful and responsive. Jordan Kayser. General manager, was easy to work with in pulling together a menu and seeing that we were properly accommodated in spite of a broken water pipe that significantly interrupted operations. All of my guests were very pleased with every detail. Highly recommended.

Such a hidden gem, I think moving forward I will make an attempt at staying at historic hotels much more often. ||The bad: on the 5th floor late at night you could hear the occasional car revving engine with loud muffler. This overall was really minor. ||The AWSOME: The ceilings are high, the historic room was in a simple word charming. Giant walk in shower with tons of hot water, Bed was 100% perfect and the staff was always visible but we really never needed them. Even the doorman fully dressed all with huge smiles. ||Self parking super easy. Location to downtown 100% perfect. ||We loved this hotel so much we are planning another trip back.

The Dunhill Hotel at 237 N Tryon St is one of those Uptown spots that instantly feels classic—like you stepped into a piece of old Charlotte that’s still standing strong. 🏙️🏨 ​ What I loved most was the lobby: they had really informative images hanging up, including a drawing of the building, which made it fun to actually learn the history while you’re just checking the place out. 🖼️📚 And the building itself has real story behind it—opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor and it’s still one of the standout historic hotels in the city. 🕰️✨

I stayed in The Dunhill hotel last night and had a great experience. The staff was helpful and very nice. The hotel is beautiful and has that older style charm. The room was perfect; if you’re looking for something very modern this won’t be your cup of tea. It was updated but kept the cozy historical aesthetic, which I loved. No sign of the ghost, but don’t let that deter you. I recommend a stay here if you are in the area.
