The staff were incredible. From the check-in, to the unexpected welcome cocktail to the delivery of the complementary piece of cheesecake for my friend’s birthday (From the happiest service industry worker who sang and smiled and made it really special). The room is was beautiful. The bartenders were Welcoming and made wonderful drinks. Highly recommended. Oh, if forgot to mention the $10 Pastry box We took for breakfast. Absolutely delicious
Positive: The shampoo and bed linens. Great restaurant. Negative: Did not get room I booked/paid for. The furnishing is not worth the star rating of hotel. The lobby is nicer than the rooms themselves.
Every single person that worked up at that desk was so damn high on marijuana. We stayed there Friday and Saturday night. (The smell…. When I went down there Sunday morning. Around 6:15 the guy behind the desk had his head down and was sleeping. My bed was so sunk in with a big hole. Never got hot water for showers. Plug in didn’t work in the bathroom. On the bright side: Valet kid working on Feb 1 all day was fabulous.Steakhouse was great! You need to test for drugs while your employees are working. And redo your rooms with new beds.
The cost of the room was very reasonable, that is why I am giving The Westin Minneapolis 4 stars. If the room was much more I would definitely rate lower. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a larger room that faced 6th Street (which I requested) along with a celebration bottle of bubbly which was very thoughtful. We noticed when we arrived the loud "boiler-type banging noises" in the wall next to the bed. I thought I could tough it out because I liked the location of the room. At 1:00 a.m., I decided I could not tough it out and called the front desk to ask for a new room. We moved to a quiet room on the 10th floor. We slept well for the next few hours. When morning came, we tried to raise the room temperature (it was 63 degrees in the room). We set the thermostat but it never got above 63 degrees. Good thing we did not plan on spending too much time in the room that day. As for the bathroom, it was huge but with a small vanity and one towel bar and a hook on the back of the door. I'm not sure where we both should hang our towels. And, with the size of the bathroom, it could easily accommodate a larger vanity so we could then set our toiletries on the vanity top. We made it work. All workers were kind to us and listened to our stories from long ago. Overall, we did enjoy our stay.
Booked an Executive 2, guest room, two double, City View. Our view from our window was a building wall. I did not realize the double bed room was two full size beds and not queen size beds (not sure why a luxury hotel would not have queen beds.) The pool was great for the kids, 3 1/2"-5" deep. The Hot Tub was great, the chlorine must have been high because when you turned the jets on, your eyes would start to burn. The Stock and Bond restaurant was delicious! Great relaxing atmosphere! Parking wasn’t too bad, the ramps are tight if you are traveling in a truck.
Stayed here for this first since covid pandemic so it’s been a minute. The room was adequate. Breakfast was awful. Arrived when breakfast opened for the day and waited for 15 minutes to be served cold coffee (they apologized it was left over from day prior) and undercooked pancakes (batter oozing from the side). Had to walk across the street to eat elsewhere. There’s no bonvoy lounge. It’s not like staying in a high end hotel. Just mediocre… but great location.
Stayed before the Remodel…. When I stayed room was outdated smelled musty and carpet was wet, had to have room switched. The shower took its time to turn warm in talking 15 min long. Paid ahead of time on booking.com was double charged at the front desk. Staff was very helpful and refunded the extra charge right away. Decent pool and hot tub. Old bank building very historic! Big bar in the lobby. Close to pretty much everything downtown.
