The Paramount Hotel Portland

We had a great stay over a weekend in December 2025. The location is great. Close to MAX, the Snitzer, excellent restaurants. Rooms are reasonably priced and NO resort or amenity fees. Good parking garage next door. I would have given 5 stars, but no in-room coffee maker. The hot water took forever to get hot, but that could have been just our room. We'll definitely be back next visit to beautiful Portland.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Paramount Hotel. We stayed over New Year’s to attend a concert at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, and the location could not have been better. It was about a two-minute walk, which made the whole experience incredibly easy. We were also very close to Pioneer Square, so we got to see the New Year’s drone lights, which was a fun bonus.||The room was very clean, and the bathroom was extremely spacious with a huge tub that felt luxurious. The bed was very comfortable, and the view from the room was really nice.||We also loved that we did not even need to leave the hotel to have a great experience. We enjoyed whiskey cocktails at the hotel’s whiskey bar, and the next morning we grabbed breakfast at The Tavern. The service was excellent and the food was great. Overall, the rates are very affordable without sacrificing comfort or quality. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great stay overall. Pros: 1) Affordable nightly rate through hotels.com. 2) Safe. 3) Clean rooms. 4) Close to everything we wanted see during our stay. 5) Friendly and professional staff. Cons: 1) There was no body soap when we checked in. Had to call front desk. 2) The only parking option was valet and the overnight rate was $60/night.

Nice view. Great location. Room spacious. Very good bar. However, the devil is in the details. 1) furniture cushions broken down 2) furniture badly scratched and dinged up 3) charging plugs absent from one side of the bed 4) bathroom pocket door doesn’t lock And this is the one thing that will keep me from staying at the Paramount ever again. No coffee in the rooms. I’ve never in my life stayed in a motel, let alone a hotel, that didn’t have in room coffee. I had to take a shower, get dressed, go down to the lobby, pour two cups of coffee, get back in the elevator, and fumble with two hot coffee cups while I swiped the elevator key. I asked the front desk about the coffee situation and true to most younger service help it was at first a bit of a blank stare followed by telling me about the coffee bar and when asked if the Paramount’s customers were okay with this, he stated with the flattest of affect, "yes". We tried something new this trip. We typically stay at the Heathman whose in room coffee service is the probably the best I’ve had. And to Paramount…this is Portland…being weird doesn’t mean ditching a critical service. Put coffee in the rooms please.

Our stay was wonderful! I really wanted a hotel room with a nice bathroom and it exceeded my expections. The bathtub in the executive king room is HUGE, and the walk in shower gets hot so fast. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was lovely to be able to adjust the room temperature. Highly recommend!!

Room was nice. My issue was that after paying for the room $170 and opting out of their valle parking for $60 a night, I instead went with parking on a side street. That's whatever. The small problem is that before leaving next morning, I went out to my car to get fresh air and catch up on some calls, and I must have sat in my car for 30+ min with head lights on w/o realizing my battery was being drained. Come to find out, I needed a jump. Absolutely my fault 100%. What rubbed me the wrong way was, when I checked my door hotel keys back in before leaving my stay at their facility, I kindly asked if possibly they had jumper cables or jumper battery pack I could use, explaining the situation. The front desk attendants first question was if I had payed for $60 valle parking, which I said I did not, but I was parked a 100 feet from the front entrance on side of hotel. That's when they said no they had no jumpers for me. It made me think, that if I had paid 60$ for valle parking that would have been a different outcome. If that wasn't the case, then why ask if I had purchased $ 60 valle parking. They surely would have just said I'm sorry, but we do not have any way of jumping your car. I am telling you I was closer where I parked my car vs if I was parked in their VIP garage. So distance was not the issue either. Just really rubbed me the wrong way

The location of this hotel is perfect! It is across from a small city park that was having a little festival when we were there. We felt safe there and it was clean and comfy. The coffee, located in the lobby was decent, but could use the "good" creamer for guests earlier in the morning since there is no coffee in the rooms. We appreciated having a fridge in the room, but kind of sad there was no microwave for leftovers. The valet is pricey, but worth it. All the staff there were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Its a good place to stay overall.
